Key Responsibilities:

• The Technical Analyst serves as a strategic financial technology partner leading the implementation of cost, budget, and forecasting models while architecting enterprise integrations and data solutions that support financial transparency and strategic planning.
• This role serves as a trusted advisor to senior Finance and Technology leadership— transforming complex organizational data into actionable insights tailored to diverse, cross-functional stakeholders.
• The role owns the end-to-end Apptio platform, including cost allocation design, data governance, report development, enterprise integrations, downstream data delivery, and automation strategy.
• The role eliminates manual processes, autonomously creates solutions, employs scripting, and ensures the integrity of financial reporting outputs across Technology systems.
• Success in this role requires a unique combination of financial acumen, software engineering expertise, independent project management, effective communication across diverse stakeholder groups, cross-functional collaboration, a solutions-oriented mindset, and proactive problem-solving skills.
• The ideal candidate thrives in a deadline-driven environment, balancing multiple priorities simultaneously while consistently delivering accurate, reconciled reporting outputs within non-negotiable reporting deadlines.
• Administer the Apptio financial model, ensuring calculated outputs are accurate, delivered on time, aligned to business objectives, and effectively shared across the organization
• Serve as the critical link between Finance and Technology, translating complex reporting requirements into scalable technical solutions focused on data, automation and integration
• Drive enhancements of labor expense transparency by continuously advancing Apptio’s transformation of general ledger labor costs into measurable project investments and distinctions between run-the-business and change-the-business activities
• Develop Apptio TBM Studio, including platform configuration, data uploads, allocation methodologies, formulas, metrics, reports, SFTP and API integrations, and user management
• Establish operational excellence by ensuring timely inbound data processing, trusted outbound reporting, and proactive management of upstream dependencies to consistently meet deadlines.
• Own the integrity and consistency of Apptio reporting outputs across enterprise systems, leveraging automation and governance controls to eliminate manual effort, accelerate delivery timelines, and strengthen stakeholder confidence
• Lead troubleshooting efforts by pinpointing granular data elements, tracing calculations to their source, and articulating how system configurations influence reporting outcomes
• Design and continuously improve month-end close processes, eliminating manual inputs, reducing dependencies, consolidating disparate data sources, and accelerating turnaround timelines
• Develop detailed analytical views and ad hoc analyses using Excel pivot tables to further investigate reporting, answer complex stakeholder inquiries, and identify data or configuration enhancements
• Assess performance and scalability trade-offs when designing data solutions, ensuring appropriate primary key granularity and payload sizing to support efficient processing and reporting
• Configure Apptio DataLink to create automation between Oracle, ServiceNow, Databricks, Tableau, Axway SFTP and REST API’s

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• 5+ years of experience as an Apptio administrator, developer, and analyst with proven success designing and implementing Technology Business Management (TBM) solutions that unlock data-driven insights and enhance financial transparency
• Deep understanding of TBM principles, cost allocation methodologies, service costing, chargeback models, labor modeling techniques, IT Planning, ATUM reporting, and Apptio best practices
• Demonstrated understanding of finance, accounting, and FP&A principles, including cost center and account hierarchies, expense management, accrual accounting, and planning cycles
• Strong software engineering background, including scripting, database development, API integrations, data modeling, automation, and enterprise system interoperability
• Exceptional ability to translate complex business and reporting requirements into scalable solutions with trusted, timely, and impactful data
• Effective communicator with proven expertise architecting Apptio integrations, leading discussions with Technology teams to design automated data exchange and effectively share financial outputs
• Demonstrated success operating with a high degree of autonomy, independently navigating ambiguity and complex business challenges while delivering results with minimal guidance and direction.
