Job description

About the Team:

This team provides expert Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) services focused on the Financials and Supply Chain Management domains. The team is responsible for developing new capabilities, optimizing existing functionality, and integrating core ERP processes with upstream and downstream enterprise systems. A key priority is ensuring system stability, reliability, accuracy, and compliance while supporting the evolving business vision of Henry Ford Health (HFH) leadership.

The team partners closely with Finance, Supply Chain, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable, sustainable technical solutions. Areas of expertise include General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Asset Management, Cash Management, eProcurement, Purchasing, Inventory, and related financial and supply chain workflows.

About the Role:

Under the general direction of the Project Manager or the Portfolio Director: leads the analysis, design, development, testing, and documentation on new and/or enhancements to PeopleSoft applications. Formulates and defines system scope and objectives based on user-defined needs. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents those programs or directs others in those activities. Has full technical knowledge of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming. Has good understanding of the business or function for which application is designed. Will regularly provide guidance and training to less experienced teammates. The responsibilities also include troubleshooting application issues and/or data issues when they arise. You will communicate solutions, issues, and risks directly with technical management or other responsible entities to ensure a fully integrated solution across multiple work streams. The Senior Systems Analyst/Programmer is leader in an IT team that is accountable for production support (including on-call duties in a 24x7 environment) as well as new projects. The ideal candidate will have experience using analytical skills to seek out, research and evaluate a variety of options to provide clients with high quality, efficient business processes and solutions that promote efficiency and enterprise-wide standardization. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
  • 7 years of applicable work experience required; 5 years applicable experience in a Healthcare setting preferred.
  • Preferred technical experience includes strong knowledge of state-of-the-art software engineering approaches in design, build, test, debugging problems, and ongoing technical support, and ability to articulate examples of workflows and processes associated with that experience.
  • Expertise with Oracle Peoplesoft v9.x HR and/or Finance/Supply chain application modules
  • Expertise with Oracle Peoplesoft PeopleTools 8.5x
  • Demonstrated experience with Application Designer, Peoplecode, Application Engine, Component Interface, SQR, Integration Broker and XML Publisher - Demonstrated experience with PS Query, SQL - Peoplesoft application performance tuning and SQL tuning experience preferred
  • Experience with at least two (2) major Peoplesoft implementations and/or upgrades
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred. - Proven ability to peer review functional and technical tasks
  • Ability to be flexible and work analytically in a problem-solving environment.
  • Good organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.
  • Good communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Experience/exposure to the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

PREFERRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate and Power Apps.
  • Copilot Studio and AI agent development.
  • Azure OpenAI or generative AI concepts.
  • SharePoint and Microsoft 365 integrations.
  • Cloud fundamentals across Azure, OCI, or AWS.
  • Git and DevOps tools.
