IMEG is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Senior Technology Designer in our Indianapolis, IN office. As a Senior Technology Designer, you will do the following:
TECHNICAL PATH
Scope
The Senior Security Technology Designer 2 will lead projects as a project manager or lead designer for the delivery of large and highly complex projects with minimal support required from senior staff. They will work closely with a team of engineers and consultants to provide project direction, engineering solutions, and advice to clients to ensure positive outcomes. Primary responsibilities will include engineering analysis, design and implementation oversight of security and low-voltage technology (ICT) systems in mission critical facilities. Additional responsibilities will include working within the project's monetary budget, leading training and mentoring efforts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.
Principal Responsibilities
• Lead design efforts for the full life cycle of physical security consulting and systems design engagements primarily for data center, mission critical, and critical infrastructure facilities. Utilize engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards
• Performs site assessments and generates detailed analysis and technical reports
• Interact with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively. Build and maintain client relationships through professional communication
• Provide in-process design reviews of security, and other low-voltage building systems design, calculations, and specifications. Implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure that engineering designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards and client requirements
• Provide technical training and mentoring. Provide technical assistance in resolution of field issues with minimal support from senior staff
• Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in physical security assessment, design and implementation.
-Contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG
• Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work. Identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with low-voltage technology ICT systems
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals
• Participate in project interviews and project presentations
Required Skills/Abilities
• Mastery of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
• Mastery of technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles relating to electrical voltage and current, digital and analog signals, basic IT networking topologies and protocols, as it relates to security and other low-voltage systems design for buildings
• Strong training, mentoring and leadership skills
• Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
• Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Eagerness to adapt to new challenges
• Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
• Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays

Education and Experience
• Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer or related Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, related STEM field, or equivalent required
• 10 years of experience minimum required, 12 preferred, in the building design consulting industry
OR
• Associates degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineering preferred
• 14 years of experience minimum required, 16 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry
Physical Requirements
• Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds.
• Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pull.
• Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises.
