Job description

The Infrastructure Systems Architect focuses on design configuration, security and the health of NJM's systems management solutions. This position provides directions for workstation client provisioning as well as maintaining systems at current patch versions. The position is also responsible for creating, operating, and monitoring solutions to secure NJM's systems and data including on-premises end user computing technologies while supporting IT and business objectives.
This role involves collaborating with various IT teams, business partners, and project managers to identify requirements, develop implementation plans, and deliver solutions. As a senior position it is expected guidance in all facets (technical or enterprise knowledge) will be provided for lower-level team members. The official NJM job title is Infrastructure Systems Architect.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) Administration
  • System upgrades and future state planning
  • System health monitoring
  • Create and maintain Windows workstation Operating System build procedures
  • Device driver management for authorized hardware
  • Enablement and monitoring of Windows workstation client patch management
  • Deployment of application packages
  • Software package availability, workstation builds and system updates communications

Infrastructure Systems Administration
  • Provide oversight and assistance to team members related to systems management platform administration
  • Work closely with BU/software requestor aiding technical expertise with new system implementations
  • Recommend new and emerging technologies to solve business problems
  • Participate in yearly Disaster Recovery exercise
  • Client computing hardware evaluations
  • Install, configure, test and maintain systems, application software and infrastructure tools.

Infrastructure Projects
  • Coordination and deployment of Patch Management approved security and software updates
  • Perform yearly Microsoft license inventory for true-up positions
  • Fulfill ad hoc client configuration deployment and reporting requests
  • Serve as a key team member using existing technical knowledge and have the skills to perform specific projects independently
  • Maintain the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Interact with other engineers and management to recommend areas of improvement for operational efficiency
  • Work closely with technical and non-technical personnel within and across NJM departments and vendors
  • Accountable for managing all assigned tasks and projects

Support
  • Provide Tier 3 client problem support and troubleshooting for Windows Operating Systems and application software package deployment
  • Create and maintain documentation including configuration specifics and procedures, for implementation and ongoing operation/maintenance of infrastructure solutions
  • Provide technical support for all IT Infrastructure enterprise systems
  • Address ticket assignments in a timely manner

Documentation
  • Prepare documentation for consumption by peers and co-workers is complete, accurate, and available.
  • Ensure documentation formatting utilizes standard formats and templates where made available.
  • Maintain appropriate information in engineering design documents, implementation plans, service calls, change control records and work order problem tickets.

Required Qualifications:
  • 15+ Years as a Systems Engineer and SCCM Administrator
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience required

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Microsoft 365 Endpoint Administrator Associate Certification
  • Microsoft 365 Mobility and Security Certification
  • Microsoft 365 Identity and Services Certification

Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience and credentials.
Pay Range: $144,643-$167,898
Eligible full-time employees receive a competitive Total Rewards package, including but not limited to a 401(k) with employer match up to 8% and additional service-based contributions, Health, Dental, and Vision insurance, Life and Disability coverage, generous PTO, Paid Sick Leave, and paid parental leave in addition to state-mandated leave.
