About the Role:

The Senior Geologist will lead a team focusing on the development and delivery of robust geological models and estimations and is pivotal in interpreting complex geological data to guide decision-making processes and optimize resource management. This role involves strong collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to design and implement studies, optimize data collection and ensure data accuracy to feed into the continual development of quality robust models. They will also mentor junior geologists and contribute to the advancement of geological methodologies within the organization. Ultimately, this position drives the successful identification, evaluation and improvement of mineral resources while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and environmental stewardship as well as compliance with regulatory standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of geological experience in the mining industry with at least five (5) years of experience in resource modelling.
  • High level of competency in geological mapping, sampling techniques and QAQC, data interpretation, modelling, geostatistics and reconciliation.
  • Experience in the use of geological software such as Datamine, Supervisor, Leapfrog, Vulcan and Deswik.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and presentations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Geology or Masters preferred
  • Experience with complex structural gold deposits.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, mentor and support a team of geologists to ensure timely delivery of robust Grade Control and Development models, fostering professional growth and adherence to best practices.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of both the geological models and grade estimation on local and regional scale by analyzing geological data using advanced software to interpret mineralisation, stratigraphy, structure and mineralogy.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports, maps, and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Lead project planning and execution, including risk assessment, budgeting, and scheduling to ensure timely delivery of objectives.
  • Collaborate with engineers, environmental scientists, and other professionals to integrate geological insights into project development.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and statutory requirements.

The Details:

Working 15 days on, 13 days off, up to 12 hours a day or more at a remote campsite. Extreme conditions, including but not limited to extreme and changing weather conditions, dust, mud, varying levels of noise, varying degrees of light and dark, in and around artificial light and in a confined work area.

Employees are required to stay on site at the company provided camp during the work rotation. Camp facilities provide dining service, games room, exercise & weight room, sauna, and accommodation rooms. Dormitory rooms have a land line phone, internet & cable tv programs. Cell service is available when using Wi-Fi. The Company provides a bus service to and from Fairbanks, Delta Junction and Tok, Alaska.
