Job description

The Manh Choh Project is a greenfield gold deposit in eastern Alaska being developed with ore being hauled to Kinross’ Fort Knox mine north of Fairbanks for processing. The mine site is located in the Tetlin Hills, approximately 250 miles southeast of Fort Knox and 10 miles southeast of Tok. Production is expected to begin in 2024.

Job Summary

This person will work on entry-level mine-related tasks while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross’ values.

Essential Functions
  • Assist technicians with compliance inspection of mining areas, Campus facilities, exploration locations, etc.
  • Assist technicians with wildlife and habitat monitoring of the mine site for compliance.
  • Assist technicians with revegetation efforts and other various reclamation activities.
  • Develop general knowledge of water sampling standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Work safely in all areas, identify potential safety hazards, and work with supervisor to report hazards.
  • Work without significant risk of harm to self and others.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
  • Ability to work independently and also as a member of the management team.
  • Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills
  • Must be 18 years old and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis.
  • Requires valid driver’s license.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative.
