The Engineering team discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation.
This role in summary
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is a process leader responsible for the performance of automation systems, machinery, and manufacturing process. This include working with operators, automation systems technicians, production, and other resources to resolve system issues through root cause analysis, engineering solution implementation, and proper documentation of important process requirements. Additionally, the Senior ME is responsible for participating in continuous improvement initiatives, particularly around line performance improvement, safety, quality, and cost. Small to medium size project management and acting as project leader on sustaining / improvement projects. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer serves as a key process leader, overseeing the performance of manufacturing processes, automation systems, and machinery. This role involves collaboration with operators, automation technicians, and production teams to resolve system issues. Responsibilities include conducting root cause analysis, implementing engineered solutions, and ensuring thorough documentation of critical process requirements.
Additionally, the Senior ME is tasked with leading continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing line performance, safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness. A further responsibility includes managing small to medium-sized projects and acting as a project leader for various sustaining and improvement efforts.
Your responsibilities will include
  • Process and Project Leadership: Lead as the primary process and project engineer for organizational initiatives requiring manufacturing engineering expertise. Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to team members.
  • Performance Improvement: Spearhead and support projects focused on enhancing equipment performance.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with various teams to ensure high-quality, on-time execution and completion of projects.
  • System Optimization: Interface with Production, Continuous Improvement, and Automated System Technicians to ensure manufacturing systems are optimally implemented and operated.
  • Automation Expertise: Develop guidance for the troubleshooting, design, and redesign of highly complex automation systems.
  • Standards Maintenance: Uphold and update Engineering standards and procedures to ensure consistency and optimize the engineering process.
  • Reliability Support: Contribute to the reliability engineering initiative by applying Design for Sustainability/Maintainability principles in the New Product Introduction (NPI) process and supporting World Class Manufacturing (WCM) initiatives related to Autonomous Maintenance (AM) and Professional Maintenance (PM).
  • Cost Savings: Support and lead cost savings projects driven by continuous improvement efforts.

Minimum requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) implementing continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Kaizen or similar programs).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the operation of personal computers and related software/equipment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Effective project management and team-building capabilities.

Preferred skills and experiences
  • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills
  • Proven problem-solving, conflict resolution, and team-building abilities
  • Experience with metal fabrication, assembly, and/or system integration is a plus
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Autocad, Oracle, and Google applications
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
