Job Summary
This Electrical Reliability position will lead the development & verification planning and execution of electrical related motorcycle components & systems as part of the Vehicle Performance and Development team within Engineering. This individual will work alongside the Electrical Systems engineering teams, suppliers, and the Test organization to create, maintain, and review both internal and supplier-led development & verification plans from concept to post-production.
Job Responsibilities
  • DFMEA: Coordinate DFMEA discussions and reviews for electrical and electromechanical systems to identify potential failure modes and their effects. Maintain and contribute to the DFMEA database.
  • DVP&R: Create detailed verification plans with appropriate test and simulation activities to ensure all designs meet their requirements and specifications.
  • Functional Safety: Oversee Functional Safety (ISO 26262) risk assessments, safety plans, and compliance for motorcycle electrical systems
  • Failure Analysis: Participate in root cause analysis when development and verification failures are realized and ensure corrective actions are followed and captured.
  • Data Analysis: Perform statistical analysis on test data sets to identify trends and confirm design robustness.
  • Design Reviews: Conduct design reviews with design engineers (internal & external) that focus on requirements, design & development activities, and verification actions.
  • Warranty: Complete warranty data compilations as needed and participate in current product quality initiatives.
  • Metrics: Track critical reliability metrics and report findings to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Process & Tools: Continuously improve the reliability processes and tools and stay connected to software tool suppliers to understand current capabilities and future releases. Automate inefficient processes wherever warranted by cost, time, or accuracy.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Proactively engage with the engineering peers and all those contributing to the reliability plan and development across the organization. Provide regular updates to stakeholders and senior leaders through efficient and effective written and verbal communication. Elevate awareness of top issues and risks.

Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related technical field required.
  • Master's Degree preferred.

Required Experience & Skills
  • A minimum of 3 years in a product development environment
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving, critical thinking, and strong mechanical aptitude
  • Outgoing and adept at cross-functional communication and collaboration.

Preferred Experience & Skills
  • Familiarity with XFMEA (ReliaSoft), Helix ALM (Perforce), or JIRA (Atlassian)
  • Background in Functional Safety (FuSa) / Certified ISO 26262
  • Practitioner of Red X problem solving techniques (fishbone, causal diagram, SIPOC)
  • Familiarity with Power BI / Coding (Python, SQL, VBA)
  • Strong aptitude in MS Excel
  • Motorcycle rider or desire to learn

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
