Our client is seeking a Senior Systems Analyst in Durham, NC.
Role Description
The Senior Systems Analyst serves as a critical link between business stakeholders and IT teams. This role is ideal for a strong analytical thinker who excels at troubleshooting system issues, understanding how applications and integrations work together, and translating business needs into clear technical requirements-without hands-on coding.
Systems Analysis & Support
Troubleshoot production and system issues, identifying root causes and recommending solutions
Analyze system integrations, APIs, and data flows across platforms
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with business users, developers, QA teams, and product owners
Facilitate clear communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders
Requirements & Documentation
Translate business needs into detailed technical requirements and user stories
Develop process flows, system documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Product & System Enhancements
Support updates to insurance products, with a focus on annuities
Assist in configuring and designing changes within policy administration systems
Collaborate with external vendors on system updates and enhancements
Testing & User Support
Participate in functional testing and validation of system changes
Provide support to end users and address system-related inquiries
Skills & Requirements
6+ years of experience in systems or data analysis
2+ years of experience working with insurance platforms
Background as a Systems Analyst or Business Systems Analyst
Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication skills with both technical and business teams
Experience supporting enterprise or insurance-related applications
APIs and system integrations
Databases (SQL, PostgreSQL or similar)
Foundational understanding of Java and JavaScript
