Job description

Quality Assurance Analyst

The Quality Assurance Analyst works across multiple teams as needed to support the overall testing needs of the program including test planning, test execution, System Integration Testing (SIT) and test automation. Responsible for a wide range of activities from supporting the requirements and development process to test planning and execution to ensure a successful implementation of the KPERS Pension Administration System and related portals.

The goal of this position is to utilize software Quality Assurance/Quality Control best practices, as well as, team collaborative efforts to produce a superior software experience to the end user prior to and concluding a successful production implementation.

KPERS Quality Assurance Analyst

  • Develop test strategies, create test plans, execute tests thought out the various testing life cycle to include hands-on experience reviewing test documentation and test results and quickly identify and troubleshoot issues
  • Responsible for the validation of all End User documentation prior to delivery of the project
  • Coordinate Defect/Issue Resolution among other teams so that defects are resolved and reported to management on a recurring basis
  • Review test cases and develop automation test scripts
  • Manage project workloads, schedules, scope and deadlines to eliminate constraints and ensure that customer needs and project metrics are met
  • Write complex SQL queries for testing and data mining purposes
  • Participate in testing a variety of data warehouses (cloud and on-prem), ODS and other data marts where appropriate
  • Work with the testing team to implement automation in entire life cycle of policies
  • Develop application testing project plans, estimates, timelines and status reporting
  • Works with management to establish application testing goals, strategies and plans
  • Develop automation test scripts
  • Take ownership of overall Quality Assurance success
  • Team player who collaborates with others & provided motivation to other team

Qualifications

  • Strong customer and business focus
  • Strong communications skills
  • 3 to 5 years' experience developing testing artifacts, such as test plans and test cases
  • 3 to 5 years' experience with manual testing software systems
  • Experience with user-centered design and usability testing
  • Experience working with a software development life cycle (SDLC) methodology
  • Experience operating within teams using the Agile SCRUM process
  • Experience with test driven or behavior driven development practices
  • Intermediate with creating simple SQL
  • Basic knowledge of PC, client/server, and network environments
  • Willingness to develop industry-related knowledge

Work Hours M-F flexible between 6 AM and 6 PM

FTE Remote - Will required to come into office periodically
