Job description

Description

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead and oversee multiple construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring they are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. This role is responsible for coordinating project operations, managing schedules and costs, and providing leadership and mentorship to Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and other team members. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who can make independent decisions, maintain strong client relationships, and support business development while ensuring projects meet company standards and client expectations. 

Essential Functions & Accountabilities:

  • Lead, direct, and coordinate the work of staff within assigned corporate divisions and project teams.
  • Oversee multiple projects to ensure effective management, operational efficiency, and adherence to company standards.
  • Drive project profitability and ensure timely completion in accordance with approved schedules and corporate standard operating procedures.
  • Develop, review, and actively manage project schedules, including three-week look-ahead planning.
  • Maintain availability and respond appropriately to after-hours emergencies related to assigned projects.
  • Foster and maintain strong client relationships to ensure complete customer satisfaction and exceed stakeholder expectations.
  • Provide leadership, training, mentoring, and performance support to Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and aligned team members.
  • Solicit, negotiate, execute, and manage contracts with subcontractors, vendors, and service providers.
  • Procure and oversee labor, materials, and equipment necessary for successful project execution.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with company policies, safety standards, and standard operating procedures.
  • Manage project costs, including reviewing subcontractor and prime contract change orders and overseeing potential change orders.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing monthly cost-to-complete reports and financial projections.
  • Schedule, facilitate, and document PM/OACM meetings and key project communications.
  • Participate in the solicitation and procurement of new business opportunities and future clients.
  • Contribute to recruitment efforts and actively support community engagement initiatives.
  • Complete special projects and all other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Exhibit proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining schedule and budget performance.
  • Demonstrated successful track record of contributing to business development efforts and pursuing new project opportunities.
  • Maintain full accountability for overall project outcomes, with a strong focus on schedule adherence, cost control, and client satisfaction. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with contractors, clients, consultants, and internal teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction documents, blueprints, and specifications, as well as a comprehensive understanding of applicable local building codes and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety protocols, and quality standards.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership abilities with the capacity to manage, direct, mentor, and support team members while upholding the company's standards of professionalism and ethical business practices.
  • Ability to adapt to changing project conditions, priorities, and unforeseen challenges in a fast-paced environment.
  • Project management experience required.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency with Procore preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in wood frame multi-family projects preferred.
  • OSHA 30 certification required.

Salary Range: 

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
