Senior Operations Project Manager (m/f/d), Houston, Texas


As Senior Operations Project Manager (m/f/d), you will join the team at our Conceptum Logistics branch office in Houston, USA. In this role, you will take full ownership of complex heavy haul and oversized project cargo movements, driving end-to-end execution across multimodal transport solutions. You will be responsible for managing projects from initial planning and engineering through transport execution and final delivery, ensuring operational excellence, cost efficiency, and adherence to timelines.


This position is ideal for a logistics professional with deep expertise in heavy haul, breakbulk, and oversized cargo, and a proven ability to manage A–Z project execution in dynamic, international environments.

YOUR TASKS


  • Take full ownership of end-to-end (A–Z) execution of heavy haul and oversized project cargo movements across vessel, rail, barge, and trucking
  • Plan, engineer, and coordinate multimodal transport solutions, including route studies, permitting, and technical requirements
  • Manage the complete project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, delivery, and final invoicing
  • Oversee and coordinate all operational phases, including port handling, terminal operations, inland transport, and last-mile delivery
  • Ensure alignment of execution with project scope, timelines, and client expectations
  • Monitor project performance through KPIs, milestones, and status reporting, ensuring transparency and on-time delivery
  • Maintain precise and audit-ready documentation across all phases of the project lifecycle
  • Drive cost control, budget adherence, and financial accuracy, including supplier management and billing processes
  • Optimize operational efficiency while maintaining the highest standards for safety and compliance
  • Act as the central point of coordination between clients, carriers, vendors, and internal teams
  • Manage subcontractors, equipment allocation, and specialized resources for oversized and heavy lift cargo
  • Identify and proactively resolve operational challenges, ensuring minimal disruption to project execution
  • Deliver clear and professional reporting, presentations, and updates to management and stakeholders


YOUR PROFILE


  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in project logistics, freight forwarding, or heavy haul operations
  • Strong hands-on experience with oversized, heavy lift, and breakbulk cargo execution
  • Proven track record managing end-to-end multimodal project logistics (A–Z execution)
  • In-depth knowledge of multimodal transportation, including ocean freight, rail, barge, and specialized trucking
  • Solid understanding of route planning, permitting, and technical requirements for heavy haul transport
  • Experience in project lifecycle management, including financial oversight, documentation, and invoicing
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage costs, budgets, and operational performance
  • Familiarity with ISO, OSHA, and HSE standards in project logistics environments
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across international teams
  • Highly organized, solution-driven, and proactive with a hands-on, execution-focused mindset
