Job description

The Senior Project Coordinator position focuses on managing complex import and export project cargo shipments from execution through final delivery. The person will be responsible for coordinating breakbulk, RORO, flat rack, and other out-of-gauge (OOG) shipments, working closely with trucking providers, warehouses, customers, and vendors to ensure cargo moves on time and any issues are proactively communicated. They will also handle vendor sourcing and rate negotiations, issue delivery orders, manage logistics costs, and serve as an escalation point for operational issues within the team.

Daily responsibility
  • Coordinate OOG import and export shipments.
  • Issue delivery orders to trucking carriers and warehouses.
  • Ensure cargo is delivered ontimeandcustomeris kept informed of any changes or delays.
  • Help tomentor and train fellow team members on OOG cargo operations.
  • Be the first point of contact for team operational issues that need to be escalated to project manager.
  • Communicate with vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Obtain and negotiate quotes from vendors.
Experience & skills Requirements:Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • BachelorsDegree (preferred, but notrequired)
Experience:
  • 5+ years of operations experience in project freightforwarding
  • Experience with breakbulk, RORO, and OOG flat rack shipments.
  • Experience withCargoWiseisrequired.
  • Experience with air freight and government/ITAR
Skills needed:
