Summary:

The Programmer Analyst V is a senior-level technical leader responsible for directing the development, implementation, and maintenance of complex software applications and systems. This role leads teams of lower-level analysts/programmers and serves as a trusted internal consultant on projects where existing architectures or standards may provide little guidance.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Leads lower-level analyst/programmers and other technical staff on a large, complex internal development project or serves as lead analyst/programmer on numerous smaller projects and systems.
  • Typically a senior internal technical consultant who directs program development in complex applications and systems where existing architectures and techniques provide little guidance.
  • Consults with user management and technical staff as necessary to clarify program intent, identify problems, suggest changes, and determine required coding.
  • Assigns, coordinates and reviews work of lower-level analyst/programmers in advanced techniques.
  • Prescribes standard to simplify interpretation of programs and documentations.
  • Supervises preparation of records and reports.
  • Requires detailed and comprehensive knowledge of employer's applications and systems.
  • Technical Project Management
    • Will utilize Project management tools to coordinate and plan development work
    • Meet regularly with the technical lead team to report progress, set priorities and coordinate requirements gathering
    • Gather requirements
    • Help develop timelines
    • Ensure developers are available to develop software to meet those timelines
    • Coordinate with Technical team for Release scheduling
  • Data Integration Development
    • Java development using Springboot and REST APIs
    • Java development projecting data into pubsub topics
    • Python, Quarto for developing tabular reports for the web
    • Database design, business intelligence tooling for end users
Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Requires proficiency in programming languages.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in software development, programming, or systems analysis
  • Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
