Overview

This role requires 3 days per week in Waltham, MA office.

Sironax is seeking an experienced Senior Manager /Associate Director, Program Management to provide critical support to early discovery cross- functional project teams to drive the delivery of project goals. The position will work collaboratively with the project leaders, teams, and functional area leads in a fast-paced and exciting environment to ensure planning and achievement of our corporate goals. This role is focused on enabling teams to advance research and early development programs to meet their deliverables goals and timelines. This is an impactful and visible role for a highly qualified and motivated individual.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and collaboration skills, knowledge of R&D processes and IND submission, and experience managing internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Partner closely with Project Leads and functional heads to develop and maintain integrated project plans to identify/communicate interdependencies as well as critical path activities for the project.
  • Work with team leaders to foster a team culture of accountability, communication, tracking progress; continuous evaluation and improvement.
  • Contribute expertise to the building of the program management function and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop integrated project timelines, track and monitor key milestones and decision points to drive delivery of project objectives.
  • Effectively communicate with team members, senior leaders and key stakeholders on the status, objectives, risks, and mitigation plans associated with projects.
  • Ensure team members are aware of integrated project timelines and provide timely updates of status and cross-functional impact.
  • Facilitate team meetings using project management best practices/tools to drive cross-functional communication, timely and effective decision making, and successful execution of project objectives.
  • Organize and maintain team communications including meeting agendas, minutes, decision logs, dashboards, tasks lists, and risk analyses/mitigation strategies.
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, and other operational functions to support budgeting and other operational needs for Sironax.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Builds effective partnerships across research, development, regulatory, CMC, finance, and other functions to achieve program objectives.
  • Project Planning & Execution – Develops and maintains integrated project plans, ensuring milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and timelines are effectively managed.
  • Influence Without Authority – Successfully drives alignment, accountability, and execution across matrixed teams.
  • Communication Skills – Clearly communicates project status, risks, decisions, and recommendations to project teams and leadership.
  • Risk Management – Anticipates project risks and facilitates development of practical mitigation strategies.
  • Organization & Attention to Detail – Effectively manages multiple priorities while maintaining accurate documentation, meeting records, dashboards, and action items.
  • Problem Solving – Applies sound judgment and analytical thinking to resolve project challenges and remove barriers to execution.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or life science discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience within the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of direct project/program management experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across cultures, disciplines, and experience levels, including executive management.
  • Experience in planning and/or managing cross-functional aspects of biopharmaceutical product development, including research, translational, and clinical studies.
  • Ability to mentor, lead, and/or influence partners in a matrixed environment.
  • Previous exposure to budgeting and resource management processes.
  • Knowledge of biotechnology/pharmaceutical research and development processes.
