Summary
A Production B Operator is responsible for performing the tasks in the production and processing of specialty silicone chemicals as an experienced member of the Production Department operations team. The operator is working towards becoming a senior operator. Responsible for the conduct of daily chemical production and processing tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
โ€ข Run assigned plant equipment, in a safe and proper manner. Able to assist start-up and shutdown of most plant processes. Equipment could include Emulsion area, VQM, Gum Blends, Tank Trucks, Bulk Tanks, Reactors, Pope Unit, Repacking and shipping and receiving.
โ€ข Qualified to run at least 75% of plant equipment.
โ€ข Measure and record all raw, in-process and finished materials accurately.
โ€ข Follow all work instructions and SOP's explicitly, sign off on each instruction.
โ€ข Pack out material when batch process is complete.
โ€ข Clean all production equipment, tools and work areas near equipment between batches and at the end of the shift.
โ€ข Calculate and make adjustments to batches as directed.
โ€ข Troubleshoot some process problems.
โ€ข Comply with all company occupational health, safety and environmental legal requirements.
โ€ข Use personal protective equipment as assigned.
โ€ข Report all unsafe conditions, work related injury or illness to a member of leadership.
โ€ข Safely handle and prepare materials for transport as assigned per regulatory requirements.
โ€ข Safely handle hazardous chemicals and waste according to company and legal requirements as assigned.
โ€ข Make recommendations for changes/improvements to ISO-9001 and 45001 integrated management systems.
โ€ข Set an example for junior level employees, and train as necessary and/or directed.
โ€ข Maintain good communication with fellow operators and leads/supervisors to ensure all tasks operate efficiently.
โ€ข Volunteer and work weekends to maintain production demands
โ€ข Additional duties as assigned.

Work Experience: 3+ years of experience required in chemical manufacturing and production
Training Requirements: Fork Truck License
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Display initiative and strong work ethic to get work done in a safe and timely manner.
