Job description

Sedgman is currently seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join their team in Montreal, QCย 

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience providing process engineering design, delivering high quality projects to clients. ย

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide process design support through the engineering phases PEA, PFS, FS, conceptual design, front-end engineering and detailed design.
  • Develop, improve and promote the effective use of operations systems (i.e. JDE, SPRS,ย  Synergy, Aconex, SMS, Dochub)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve process issues.
  • Develop process flow sheets and prepare process design criteria.
  • Prepare process calculations, PFDs, heat & material balances and P&IDs.
  • Size process equipment and develop specifications.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure safe and efficient operations
  • Will be up-to-date with advancements in mining processing technology and recommend implementation of new equipment or processesย 
  • Additional duties as required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mineral Processing, Metallurgy or Chemical Disciplines)
  • Will have 15 -20 years of relevant process engineering design experience in the mining industry; with 3-5 years in a supervisory roleย 
  • Will have OIQ Engineering designation. ย 
  • Prior experience in an engineering / consulting firm is required
  • In depth knowledge of process engineering, equipment, and technologies in the mining industry is required
  • Chemical and mineral processing experience is highly desired.
  • Good communication skills with well-developed written and oral skills.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship
