Job description

TAMKO is seeking a Process Engineer at our manufacturing facility in Phillipsburg, Kansas.  The Process Engineer will plan, direct, and coordinate various manufacturing processes on multiple production lines.  

Essential job functions
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods
  • Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow
  • Design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
  • Confer with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods
  • Partner with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for the purchase of equipment, materials, and parts
  • Evaluate vendor products according to specifications and quality standards
  • Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions
  • Coordinate with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes
  • Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential

Requirements

  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering field 
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MiniTab, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and may occasionally lift or move heavier objects with assistance.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work around moving mechanical parts, at elevated heights, where dust and fumes could be present in the air, with or in proximity to chemicals, in hot environments, around electrical equipment, and in a loud environment. The employee must have the ability to understand and mitigate these and other risks, including by following all prescribed safety rules, and must have the ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, if necessary.
