What You'll Do

Design and Engineering (60%)

You'll be responsible for designing high-performance building automation solutions that integrate HVAC, lighting, and other building systems into seamless, reliable control platforms.

  • Developing control system designs from construction documents, specifications, and project requirements
  • Designing and integrating DDC controllers, sensors, actuators, relays, and control devices
  • Evaluating system requirements and resolving design challenges between equipment capabilities and project specifications
  • Collaborating with Project Managers and Sales teams to deliver practical, cost-effective solutions
  • Contributing to engineering standards and continuous improvement initiatives

Documentation and Project Support (30%)

  • Prepare HVAC controls submittals and engineering documentation
  • Create points lists, network risers, control panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and controller details
  • Coordinate project deliverables and respond to technical requests
  • Support project turnover and handoff activities
  • Maintain accurate project records that support commissioning and long-term serviceability

Field Collaboration and Industry Engagement (10%)

  • Visit project sites to validate designs and support troubleshooting efforts
  • Partner with technicians and programmers to improve design quality and constructability
  • Stay current with emerging BAS technologies, HVAC systems, and industry best practices
  • Participate in problem-solving efforts that drive successful project outcomes

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, controls engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Experience designing and implementing building automation solutions and HVAC control systems preferred
  • Experience with BACnet, Modbus, and other building automation communication protocols
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency with CAD, Visio, or similar design software
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed

Preferred Experience

  • Building Automation Systems (BAS)
  • HVAC Controls Engineering
  • Niagara, Tridium, Distech, Alerton, Schneider Electric, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell, or similar platforms
