Test Engineer

The Opportunity:

When an Air Force or Navy user tries new software, they expect it to be intuitive and run smoothly. Functionality, reliability, and user experience are key to successful software development-and that means rigorous testing. That's why we need you, an experienced test engineer who knows how to thoroughly test software and work with developers to make sure our team releases the best software possible.

As a Test Engineer on our Space Force team, you'll use your experience to work with developers and engineers to evaluate software developed for national defense. You'll create test plans with test cases based on user stories and requirements. Using automated and manual processes, you'll generate data and implement the test cases to observe how the software performs, then document the results and communicate defects to the development team so they can start improving the tool.

As a member of our team, you'll demonstrate a proactive approach to work, consistently anticipating needs and taking initiative to address challenges before they arise. You will seek opportunities for improvement and contribute innovative ideas to drive our team's success. Work with us as we develop software solutions to support our service members abroad.

You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience in developmental testing

  • Experience performing requirements analysis, synthesis, and traceability for shall statement and supplemental fields evaluation, including test method and success criteria

  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

  • Experience architecting complex systems in Model-Based Systems Engineering, including CAMEO or Rhapsody

  • Knowledge of DoD Instructions 5000.87 and 5000.89

  • Ability to develop and execute detailed test procedures for Developmental and Operational Test Events

  • Ability to build automated test scripts and custom harnesses using a tool such as a Python or Cypress

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with the Atlassian Suite, including Confluence or Jira

  • Experience with radar system operations or radar modeling

  • Experience with in Docker or Kubernetes

  • Experience interfacing with formal government test organizations, including 17TES or JITC

  • Knowledge of software deployment and troubleshooting processes in DevSecOps pipelines, including Platform 1 or DAFCw

  • Ability to run and evaluate complex simulation frameworks

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • Security+ Certification

  • Docker or Kubernetes Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
