Senior NOC Analyst

Chicago, IL – hybrid WFH: 3 days onsite in the loop, 2 days work from home

Mon-Fri: 3pm-11:30pm

Summary:

We're looking for Senior NOC Analysts, that have strong Monitoring, ITIL and Major Incident Management (MIM) experience. Major Incident Response will be a focus of both roles: bridge call facilitation, executive communications, service restoration, etc. In addition you'll also be responsible for monitoring IT infrastructure and enterprise applications, technical escalation and troubleshooting (logging into servers, networks, diagnosing issues), and contributing to continuous improvement efforts through reporting and team collaboration in a 24x7x365 ITIL environment.

What You'll Be Doing – Broken Down By Area Of Responsibility: Major Incident Management
  • Serve as Incident Commander during critical outages and high-priority incidents, leading technical bridge calls, directing escalation paths, and ensuring rapid service restoration.
  • Manage real-time communications and provide timely updates to executives, stakeholders, and global teams.
  • Maintain composure, clarity, and authority in high-pressure situations.
Operational Oversight & Monitoring
  • Responsible for real-time monitoring of mission-critical infrastructure and enterprise applications using tools such as Splunk, SolarWinds, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, ThousandEyes, and SCOM.
  • Conduct proactive health checks, leverage automation scripts, and resolve anomalies before they escalate into incidents.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to escalate and resolve complex infrastructure and application issues.
Technical Escalation & Troubleshooting
  • Perform deep-dive troubleshooting across server OS (Windows/Linux), virtualization platforms (VMware), networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and hybrid cloud environments (Azure).
  • Utilize scripting (Python, PowerShell, VBScript) to support diagnostics, automation, and performance optimization.
Reporting & Collaboration
  • Generate clear and professional shift handover reports, incident retrospectives, and trend analyses.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement through metrics tracking, process refinement, and knowledge management.
Skills We're Seeking
  • ITIL Foundation Certification is a must have
  • 5+ years of experience working as a NOC Technician/Analyst/Engineer
  • 5+ years of experience with Major Incident Management (bridge call facilitation, executive communications, service restoration).
  • Strong experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, SCOM, SolarWinds, AppDynamics, Datadog, Dynatrace, ThousandEyes, etc.
  • Experience across servers (Windows, Linux) and virtualization (VMWare)
  • Networking experience
  • Scripting experience using tools like Python, PowerShell, VBScript, Bash, etc.
