Facilities Operations Manager

IONNA LLC

Raleigh, NC

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Retirement

Job description

Reports To: SVP, Site Operations This role requires a fulltime onsite presence in Durham, NC Target Base Salary: $95-115k + incentives

Please note: We are only able to consider candidates who are U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents (green card holders) and who do not require current or future visa sponsorship of any sort.

About the Role

IONNA is building a national EV charging network from the ground up - fast. Our Facilities Operations Manager plays a missioncritical role in keeping our sites safe, reliable, and operational for drivers every single day.

This is a handson, fielddriven role for someone who thrives in lean, entrepreneurial environments. You'll manage construction closeouts, punch lists, utilities, vendors, and daytoday facilities operations across a distributed network of EV charging locations.

If you're used to large corporate realestate teams, this is not that. Here, you own the work endtoend.

We're looking for an operator with criticalfacilities experience who has managed infrastructure in environments like EV charging, telecom, utilities, distributed retail, or other fieldbased networks - and who is comfortable working without the layers, bureaucracy, or slow decision cycles of big, mature organizations.

What You'll Do
  • Ensure all IONNA sites are safe, clean, and fully functional for drivers every day.

  • Own and resolve all break/fix issues within defined SLAs.

  • Manage and hold accountable a diverse set of vendors, contractors, and service partners.

  • Lead the closeout of construction projects, including punch lists, commissioning, and site readiness.

  • Oversee utility setup, management, and billing for new and existing properties.

  • Maintain compliance by managing business licenses, inspections, and regulatory requirements.

  • Identify and implement workflow improvements across facilities and field operations.

  • Partner closely with Deployment, Site Operations, Finance, and Legal to ensure smooth handoffs and operational continuity.

  • Track and drive KPIs including:

    • Mean Time to Resolve (MTTR)

    • Google Ratings

    • Opex vs. Budget

  • Support rapid growth by building scalable processes, documentation, and operational standards.

  • Be available for weekends or late hours when needed - because field operations don't always follow a 9-5 schedule.

Who You Are
  • A handson operator with experience managing critical facilities (e.g., power systems, HVAC, life safety, electrical infrastructure).

  • Experienced in small companies, startups, or fastpaced field environments where you owned work endtoend.

  • Comfortable managing construction and facilities projects across distributed field locations (EV charging, telecom, utilities, retail networks, etc.).

  • Able to operate without the extensive support layers found in large corporate realestate organizations.

  • A strong communicator who can coordinate across engineering, deployment, operations, and external partners.

  • Obsessed with documentation, process creation, and operational clarity.

  • A leader with a "no excuses, extreme ownership" mindset.

  • Willing to roll up your sleeves - whether that's walking a site, troubleshooting an issue, or pushing a vendor to deliver.

  • Energized by ambiguity and motivated by building something new.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years managing missioncritical facilities or infrastructure operations.

  • 5+ years managing construction projects, preferably in distributed field environments.

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.

  • Demonstrated success in startuplike or fastpaced operational environments.

  • Strong vendor management and accountability skills.

  • Ability to work nights/weekends as needed to support field operations.

  • Onsite presence required at our Durham HQ.

Why IONNA

We're building something that doesn't exist yet - a reliable, nationwide EV charging network that drivers can trust. You'll be part of a small, elite team shaping the future of EV infrastructure from the ground up.

IONNA is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices through a competitive base salary, as well as offering bonus programs, comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life, 401(K), and paid holidays. Actual base salaries are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications, and specific work location.
