This role requires a processor who consistently delivers clean loan submissions, proactively manages underwriting conditions, and keeps complex files moving efficiently. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume lending environment and partners closely with Loan Officers, Underwriters, Closers, and borrowers to ensure an exceptional customer experience and timely loan closings.

Responsibilities:

  • Process and manage USDA, Non-QM, Conventional, FHA, and VA mortgage loan files from application through closing while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare complete, high-quality loan packages that result in clean underwriting submissions and minimize suspense conditions.
  • Review borrower income, assets, credit, employment, tax returns, appraisal reports, and supporting documentation to ensure loan eligibility.
  • Analyze complex borrower scenarios, including self-employed borrowers, bank statement loans, DSCR loans, asset utilization, investment properties, and layered income documentation.
  • Proactively manage underwriting conditions by obtaining required documentation quickly and maintaining consistent communication with borrowers, Loan Officers, Underwriters, and third-party vendors.
  • Submit complete loan files to underwriting and resolve outstanding conditions to support efficient underwriting turn times and timely closings.
  • Coordinate with title companies, appraisal management companies, insurance providers, employers, and other third-party partners to ensure all closing requirements are satisfied.
  • Monitor loan pipelines and prioritize multiple files while consistently meeting production goals, service level agreements, and closing deadlines.
  • Maintain compliance with investor guidelines, agency requirements, TRID, RESPA, ECOA, HMDA, and all applicable federal and state mortgage lending regulations.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by providing timely loan status updates, resolving borrower questions, and creating a smooth lending experience from application through funding.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of recent residential mortgage processing experience.
  • Recent hands-on experience processing USDA and Non-QM mortgage loan products.
  • Strong knowledge of Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, Jumbo, and Non-QM underwriting guidelines.
  • Experience reviewing income documentation, tax returns, self-employed borrower files, asset documentation, credit reports, and appraisal reviews.
  • Proven ability to process complex borrower profiles, including multiple income sources, investment properties, bank statement loans, and layered loan files.
  • Demonstrated success submitting complete loan files with minimal underwriting conditions.
  • Experience managing a high-volume mortgage pipeline while maintaining exceptional accuracy and meeting production deadlines.
  • Proficiency with loan origination systems, automated underwriting systems, mortgage processing software, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with a strong commitment to quality and customer service.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of USDA eligibility requirements, income calculations, and Rural Housing guidelines.
  • Experience processing a wide variety of Non-QM loan products, including bank statement, DSCR, asset utilization, Jumbo, and investor-specific programs.
  • Proven track record of maintaining clean files, low condition rates, and efficient closing timelines.
  • Experience supporting high-producing Loan Officers in a fast-paced retail mortgage lending environment.
  • Ability to identify potential issues early, resolve challenges proactively, and keep loan files progressing toward successful closings.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with borrowers, Loan Officers, Underwriters, Closers, and third-party partners while delivering an outstanding customer experience.
