Job description

TITLE: SR 1. Mechanical Technician

POSITION OBJECTIVE: This position is responsible for lubrication, preventative maintenance, and repair of all equipment. Performs other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Technical school or Associates degree in Industrial Maintenance or 6 years of experience in Industrial Maintenance required
  • Have a strong background in troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, as well as machining experience is required
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Safety glasses, ear plugs, and steel toe shoes is required on some or all jobs
  • Must have good communication skill
  • Must be able to multi-task
  • Must be able and willing to work overtime on an as needed basis. Must be willing to be on-call and work some nights and weekends that are required
  • Electrical background is a plus, but not required
  • The ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings is a plus
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of mechanical equipment
  • Lubrication and preventative maintenance (PM) of mechanical equipment
  • Assists Electronic technician in electrical and electronic duties
  • Able to perform welding, machining, and millwright duties
  • Identify parts and assist Parts Coordinator in the requisition and inventory of tools, spare parts, and equipment
  • Assembles, and installs new mechanical equipment, enters work orders in the Maintenance Management System; able to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings
  • Maintain all equipment in good running order, perform route checks and report deficiencies.
  • Ensure that job site is clean and free of hazards, follow GMP practices.
  • Maintains good housekeeping and safety practices when running equipment
  • Interacts and communicates with Production supervisor during shift and assist on production line when needed
  • Maintains professional certifications and keeps updated on all procedures and policy changes; keeps training up to date
  • Operates all maintenance equipment safely, follow LOTO practices.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
