We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst with deep expertise in data analysis, business analysis, and insurance/actuarial domains to support enterprise data initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience gathering business requirements, performing source data analysis, creating source-to-target mappings, documenting business rules, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality data solutions.

This role requires strong SQL skills, excellent analytical capabilities, and hands-on experience working with actuarial, underwriting, or broker data within the insurance industry. Familiarity with Databricks, Azure, and modern data governance practices is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and data requirements.
  • Perform detailed source system analysis to understand data structures, relationships, and quality.
  • Develop comprehensive Source-to-Target Mapping (STTM) documents for data migration and integration projects.
  • Analyze complex datasets using advanced SQL to identify trends, anomalies, and business insights.
  • Document business rules, transformation logic, and data validation requirements.
  • Work closely with actuarial, underwriting, and business teams to understand insurance data models and reporting needs.
  • Support data reconciliation, data validation, and quality assurance activities.
  • Participate in data governance initiatives including metadata management, data lineage, and data quality improvements.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering teams supporting Azure and Databricks-based data platforms.
  • Create functional specifications and support UAT by validating business requirements and data accuracy.
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings and effectively communicate project status, risks, and recommendations.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Business, or a related field.
  • 10–12+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or Business/Data Analyst.
  • Strong experience with:
    • Requirements gathering and business analysis
    • Source data analysis
    • Source-to-Target Mapping (STTM)
    • Business rule documentation
    • Data reconciliation and validation
    • Stakeholder management
  • Advanced SQL skills for complex querying, analysis, and data validation.
  • Hands-on experience in the Insurance industry, preferably within:
    • Actuarial
    • Underwriting
    • Broker data
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on actuarial experience.
  • Strong understanding of Property & Casualty and/or Life Insurance data.
  • Experience working with underwriting and broker datasets.
  • Familiarity with Databricks and Microsoft Azure data platforms.
  • Exposure to data governance frameworks, metadata management, and data lineage.
  • Experience supporting enterprise reporting and analytics initiatives.
  • Knowledge of ETL processes and data integration concepts.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
