Job description

Senior Mechanical Engineer
Halff has an immediate opening for a Senior Mechanical Engineer, with their Texas PE License, to join our growing MEP Engineering team based out of one of our Texas offices (The Woodlands, Houston). The ideal candidate would have at least 5 years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering design using Trane Trace 700, or similar energy modeling tools. What you will do:
  • Responsible for planning and preparing engineered contract documentation for assigned projects, working with or as a mechanical Project Manager to meet deadlines, aiding in or providing engineering decisions, and collaborating with other engineers, architects, and/or owners.
  • Responsible for creating mechanical and plumbing project construction documents, plans, and specifications.
  • Responsible for on-site visits, as necessary, to collect existing condition information, attend meetings, respond to construction inquiries, and report on-site observations. Construction activities when necessary, may include shop drawing reviews, responding to RFI’s, and site visits to generate observation reports.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining client relationships.
What you will need:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License in the state of Texas.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering.
  • Experience in Trane Trace 700 or similar energy modeling tools.
  • Large central plant experience is a plus
  • High-level interpersonal relationship skills, proficiency in communication skills, and organization skills.
  • Design-build experience is a plus.
  • Ability to manage large-scale projects.
