We currently have an opening for a Senior Materials Specialist in our Purchasing department. The Senior Materials Specialist will be responsible for managing and optimizing the flow and availability of raw materials for Smalley's production operations, including procurement and inventory control.

Responsibilities will also include: researching new/existing products, price negotiation, resolving technical issues, identifying cost savings opportunities, using data and reporting tools to identify trends and make recommendations and monitoring of open orders to ensure on time delivery. The Senior Materials Specialist will work closely with multiple departments every day, working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. The position offers a strong opportunity for growth within the Smalley organization.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required
    • Materials Management certification a plus
  • 7 years minimum purchasing experience required
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is desired
  • Experience with metals, wire, or metallurgy is a plus
  • Attention to detail and strong desire to learn and grow
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $80,000 - $100,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location.This role is bonus/and or incentive eligible.
