Senior Manufacturing Manager Job Summary

The Senior Manufacturing Manager leads safe, reliable, and cost-effective production for Circle Y, Tucker Trail, Reinsman, and Precision Saddle Tree products. This role directs manufacturing, production planning, and purchasing priorities while ensuring the people, materials, equipment, information, and capacity are aligned to meet customer commitments. The Senior Manufacturing Manager is accountable for safety, quality, delivery, productivity, labor performance, manufacturing cost, material availability, and continuous improvement.

Senior Manufacturing Manager Responsibilities
  • Lead manufacturing operations and maintain a strong, visible leadership presence on the production floor.
  • Establish production plans aligned with customer requirements, capacity, material availability, and business priorities.
  • Develop frontline leaders and build a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, employee involvement, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure approved specifications, routers, standard work, Digital Work Orders, and quality requirements are followed; improve first-pass yield, defects, rework, and scrap.
  • Monitor backlog, work in process, schedule attainment, lead time, on-time delivery, shortages, capacity risks, and supplier constraints.
  • Direct purchasing priorities and ensure materials and outside services are available to support production.
  • Lead daily manufacturing performance management across safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost; drive root-cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Manage labor, staffing, overtime, cross-training, capacity, budgets, capital priorities, equipment needs, and cost-improvement initiatives.
  • Provide timely production status, risks, constraints, and recovery plans to leadership.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.

  • 10+ years of progressive manufacturing or operations experience, including 5+ years leading managers and multi-department operations.
  • Demonstrated responsibility for manufacturing and warehousing, distribution, fulfillment, materials, or comparable end-to-end operations.
  • Demonstrated success improving safety, quality, delivery, productivity, inventory, cost, and financial performance.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing, ERP/MRP systems, operating budgets, capital planning, and scalable operating systems.
  • Experience supporting significant business growth or operational transformation preferred.
Physical Requirements

Extended periods of standing, walking, and sitting; frequent work in production areas; occasional bending, reaching, stooping, climbing, and lifting up to 40 pounds. Must be able to observe and evaluate work throughout the facility.

Work Environment

Office and manufacturing environment with exposure to loud equipment, leather dust, oils, adhesives, moving machinery, and variable temperatures. Frequent cross-functional interaction is required, and travel may be required.
