Job description

Senior Manufacturing Process EngineerWe have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer to join a leading aerospace and defense manufacturing company based in ManchesterConnecticut. Our client is a well-established manufacturer supporting major aerospace, defense, and advanced technology programs. They specialize in the design, engineering, and manufacture of complex components used in demanding operating environments, with a strong focus on quality, precision, and continuous improvement.

The Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer will be responsible for developing and improving manufacturing processes for complex aerospace components that are critical to flight safety across both rotorcraft and fixed-wing aircraft.

  • Develop manufacturing processes for aerospace components from raw material through to finished product requirements.
  • Process components including gears, castings, forgings, housings, cases, covers, hubs, spindles, extensions, and other complex components.
  • Interpret and apply OEM specifications, engineering requirements, systems, and processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve production processes, reduce manufacturing costs, and increase efficiency.
  • Provide engineering support to the manufacturing floor, including component rework and repair activities where required.
  • Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing routings within the companyโ€™s ERP system.
  • Create standard work instructions and manufacturing processes for engineering, production personnel, and external vendors.
  • Lead engineering projects focused on quality, cost reduction, process improvement, and on-time delivery.
  • Work closely with customers and internal program management teams to implement customer requirements into manufacturing processes.
  • Support the sales and quotation process by providing manufacturing capability information and estimated process cycle times.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop quotations for new and revised components.
  • Work closely with manufacturing, quality, engineering, and production teams to resolve technical and process-related issues.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 5โ€“7 years of manufacturing process engineering experience, preferably within aerospace manufacturing.
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production flow.
  • Experience working with aerospace components and/or flight-critical products is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software; Siemens NX experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and basic Excel.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Proficient in English.
