Job description

Job Title: Senior Associate, Supplier Quality Engineering

Job Description:  

Ensure delivery of quality parts from supply base.  Monitors/maintains necessary metrics, procedures, controls to assure compliance/conformance to regulatory, customer, and company requirements.  Will work closely with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to analyze and resolve part issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions. 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate and track with supply base for containment, root cause, and proper corrective and preventive actions on non-conformances and customer returns.
  • Interfacing with customers and program personnel.
  • Review, understand, ensure communication of quality flow down requirements to the supply base.
  • Ensure Supplier First Article Inspections are accurate and per AS9102 standards prior to approval.
  • Perform audits in support of onboarding new suppliers or proactive surveillance audits for critical suppliers.
  • Analyze supplier performance and develop improvement plans for identified problem areas to drive down supplier COPQ and nonconformance rates.
  • Manage KPI data and metrics using existing tools - report functional performance to leadership on monthly basis.
  • Material Review Board/Engineering Change Notice review representation.
  • Responsible for participating in continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system.
  • Employ mistake-proofing techniques with supply base.
  • Implement thorough RFQ and PO reviews with supply chain, quality, and engineering prior to awarding supplier POs.
  • Responsible for performing job duties in a manner consistent with established L3Harris Ethics Standards. Responsible for working in a manner consistent with established safety rules and regulations.
  • Ability to travel (typically around 25%), Onsite support in Alpharetta facility when not travelling.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
  • Must be a US citizen.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • ASQ certification (CQE, CQA).
  • Six Sigma Green Belt.
  • 2+ years of experience in Aerospace/Defense parts manufacturing or Automotive parts manufacturing.
  • Knowledgeable of concepts, practices, policies/procedures in engineering.
  • Working knowledge of basic quality concepts and tools (i.e., 8D, 5 Why, etc.).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills. Excellent team player with ability to interface with all levels of the organization.
  • Interact effectively with management, peers, and other employees relative to quality and technical issues.
  • Experience in Aerospace/Defense parts manufacturing or Automotive parts manufacturing.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
