Job Description

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Mainframe Developer with 12+ years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise mainframe applications. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, VSAM, and IBM mainframe technologies, along with experience in application modernization, production support, and Agile development.

Required Skills:
  • 12+ years of experience in IBM Mainframe application development.
  • Strong programming experience with COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, and TSO/ISPF.
  • Experience with IMS DB/DC is highly preferred.
  • Strong SQL skills with DB2 database design, optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Experience in batch processing, online transaction processing, and job scheduling.
  • Hands-on experience with Endevor, Changeman, File-AID, Expeditor, Abend-AID, and IBM Debugging tools.
  • Knowledge of MQ Series, FTP, Connect:Direct, and file transfer processes.
  • Experience working with REST/SOAP API integrations between mainframe and distributed systems is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with source control and release management processes.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, debugging, and production support experience.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise mainframe applications.
  • Analyze business requirements and convert them into technical solutions.
  • Develop and support COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, and VSAM applications.
  • Create and optimize DB2 queries and database objects.
  • Perform unit testing, system testing, and support UAT activities.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolution.
  • Support batch jobs, online transactions, and system integrations.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, architects, QA teams, and stakeholders.
  • Participate in code reviews, performance tuning, and application modernization initiatives.
  • Prepare technical documentation and maintain development standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, Healthcare, or Retail domains.
  • Exposure to Mainframe modernization initiatives and cloud integration.
  • Experience with IBM z/OS environment and middleware technologies.
  • Knowledge of Java or distributed applications interacting with Mainframe is a plus.
Education:
  • Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
