Senior Mainframe Developer & Production Support
Location: Brooklyn, Ohio (Remote)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mainframe Developer & Support Specialist with strong expertise in IBM z/OS environments. The role involves designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting mission-critical mainframe applications. The ideal candidate will have deep technical skills in COBOL, DB2, JCL, and CICS, along with experience in production support, incident management, and batch scheduling.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, code, test, and deploy applications using COBOL, JCL, and DB2.
  • Develop and maintain online (CICS) and batch processing systems.
  • Provide L2/L3 production support for mainframe applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to batch failures, abends, and data inconsistencies.
  • Support Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS) batch job scheduling and monitoring.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive solutions.
  • Work with IBM MQ for message-based integrations.
  • Use code management tools for version control, migration, and deployment.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and QA teams.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior team members.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 8+ years of experience in Mainframe Development & Support, with strong experience in production support environments.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
