Purpose:

Reporting to the Mill Team Leader, the Mill Operator conducts all duties that are required within their assigned circuit. The Mill Operator is also responsible of maintaining housekeeping of their assigned circuit and other circuits as required to ensure a safe work environment. Mill Operators are surrounded by hazardous substances, therefore it is crucial that they are attentive to their surroundings and report any potential hazards immediately.

Responsibilities include:

  • Safely operate and monitor areas of the gold milling process, including crushing, grinding, leaching, carbon-in-pulp (CIP), elution, electrowinning, counter-current decantation (CCD), cyanide destruction, reagent preparation and tailings management.
  • Conduct routine inspections, sampling and process adjustments to maintain safe, efficient and consistent plant performance.
  • Record, interpret and troubleshoot process data, equipment readings and sample results to optimize plant performance
  • Follow, contribute and improve the site and plant safety, environmental and operational procedures
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment in all assigned areas
  • Participate in daily pre-start meetings, shift handovers, plant startups and shutdowns, and emergency procedures as required
  • Report any and all health and safety concerns, identify, report and address risks.
  • Follow operating procedures and comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrate willingness to learn to use/operate varied instruments, machines or equipment.
  • Perform other related operational tasks to support safe and productive mill operations.


Education and Experience:

  • Minimum Grade 12 education required
  • Minimum of 1 year of milling experience in the mining industry
  • Candidates with 3 or more years of directly related experience may qualify for a more senior operator role
  • Willingness to learn
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs

Working Conditions

  • The schedule for this position will consist of 14 days on and 14 days off, 12 hours per day.


Compensation:

  • The base salary range for this position is CAD$100,513 - $110,820 per year, depending on skills, experience, and qualifications.
  • The Company offers a Defined Contribution Pension Plan (DCPP), including an automatic 5% employer contribution, with the option for employees to receive up to an additional 4% employer match on employee contributions.
