Job description

Lambda, The Superintelligence Cloud, is a leader in AI cloud infrastructure serving tens of thousands of customers. Our customers range from AI researchers to enterprises and hyperscalers. Lambda's mission is to make compute as ubiquitous as electricity and give everyone the power of superintelligence. One person, one GPU.
If you'd like to build the world's best AI cloud, join us.
*Note: This position requires presence in our San Francisco or San Jose office location 4 days per week; Lambda's designated work from home day is currently Tuesday.
About the Role
We are seeking a Manager, Investor Relations to strengthen the analytical and strategic core of our Investor Relations function as the company scales. This is a senior role for someone who can independently own complex analysis and judgment-based work, not simply support it, while also developing the junior analyst who reports to them.
Reporting to and partnering closely with the Vice President of Investor Relations, this role works across Finance, FP&A, Capital Markets & Corporate Development, and the broader organization to help management understand external expectations, investor sentiment, and market dynamics. The ideal candidate combines strong financial acumen, analytical rigor, and sharp communication skills with a genuine interest in how sophisticated investors evaluate businesses.
Prior investor relations experience is welcome but not required, and it is not what we are optimizing for. We care far more about analytical horsepower, sound judgment, and a strong point of view, paired with the eagerness to learn our approach to investor relations.
This is a highly visible role with regular exposure to executive leadership, investors, analysts, and the broader financial community. The [Senior] Manager will have one direct report, an Investor Relations Analyst. While the focus of the role is the work itself rather than people management, prior management experience is not required; what matters is the desire to guide, develop, and elevate a junior team member.
What You'll Do
  • Own earnings preparation. Lead the development of earnings materials, including presentations, scripts, Q&A, and supporting analyses, working with the VP to ensure accuracy, consistency, and a compelling narrative.
  • Read the market. Develop a deep, ongoing understanding of investor sentiment, analyst expectations, and market perception, and translate it into clear insights for management.
  • Analyze and interpret. Assess investor feedback, analyst research, peer disclosures, and industry developments to identify implications for our communications and positioning.
  • Act as a thought partner. Serve as a trusted analytical partner to the VP of Investor Relations on investor sentiment, market expectations, competitive positioning, and external perception.
  • Bridge FP&A and IR. Partner closely with FP&A to understand operating performance, forecast assumptions, and key business drivers, and translate internal operating trends into investor-relevant insights.
  • Partner with Capital Markets and Corporate Development. Coordinate closely with Capital Markets & Corporate Development on all capital-raising activity, focusing on consistency of metrics and narrative across external communications.
  • Anticipate the Street. Analyze the relationship between company performance and investor expectations to help management anticipate investor questions, reactions, and areas of focus.
  • Surface disconnects. Identify gaps between internal expectations and external models, and recommend approaches to messaging, disclosure, and investor engagement.
  • Develop the analyst. Guide and develop the Investor Relations Analyst (a direct report), reviewing their work and helping raise the analytical quality of the function's output.

You
  • 4+ years of experience in equity research, investment banking, management consulting, strategic finance, investor relations, or a similarly analytical field. Prior investor relations experience is welcome but not required.
  • Strong command of financial statements, operating metrics, valuation frameworks, and public company disclosures.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex financial and market information into clear, actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the judgment to know what matters to a sophisticated audience.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a genuine interest in markets, investors, competitors, and business performance.
  • A genuine desire to mentor and develop a direct report while remaining hands-on in the work; prior people-management experience is not required.

Nice to Have
  • Experience with companies that need to raise significant amounts of capital, or with capital-intensive businesses.
  • Experience with highly technical or complex business models.
  • A track record of advancement within a single firm rather than frequent job changes; we value depth and demonstrated growth in one place.
  • Familiarity with AI, cloud infrastructure, or adjacent technology sectors.

Success in This Role
Success in this role is about owning your work end-to-end. You produce solid, reliable analysis, you know exactly where every number came from, and you are seen across the organization as someone whose work can be trusted without a second check. It is about consistently doing rigorous, dependable work that others can build on with confidence.
