Overview:
As the Senior Manager of Inventory Optimization, you will play a pivotal role in driving efficient inventory management strategies while overseeing a team of Inventory Control Analysts. This player/coach role is ideal for a hands-on leader with advanced PowerBI skills, essential for data-driven decision-making and reporting to executive leadership. You will manage the impact of customer engineering change orders (ECOs), oversee claims for cancelled or stranded materials, and develop strategies for managing excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory. Your insights and analysis will be presented regularly to the executive team, ensuring that inventory management aligns with business objectives, minimizes financial risks, and maximizes customer satisfaction.
This role will be based in either Austin, TX, or Portland, OR, and requires onsite presence with some hybrid flexibility.
Key Responsibilities - other duties may be assigned:
Inventory Optimization Leadership
  • Lead and mentor a team of Inventory Control Analysts.
  • Ensure accurate forecasting and proactive management of ECO effectivity dates.
  • Drive inventory adjustments to support ECOs and minimize supply chain disruptions.

Claims and Recovery Management
  • Oversee claims processes for cancelled or stranded materials.
  • Partner with supply chain teams to evaluate claims situations.
  • Engage with customers to file claims and negotiate adjustments per company policy and customer agreements.

Excess and Obsolete (E&O) Inventory Strategy
  • Develop and implement strategies to manage E&O inventory.
  • Identify cost-effective solutions to minimize waste and recover value from non-moving stock.
  • Coordinate disposal or repurposing of obsolete materials.

Executive Reporting and Presentation
  • Regularly present on inventory performance, trends, and risks to executive leadership.
  • Use PowerBI to provide data-driven insights and ensure alignment between inventory practices and business objectives.

Process Improvement and Innovation
  • Assess and enhance inventory management and claims handling processes.
  • Implement best practices to increase accuracy, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with sales, customer service, and production teams to align inventory control with business goals.
  • Ensure clear communication to meet customer demands and optimize company operations.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in inventory management or supply chain roles, with 3+ years in a managerial role, preferably in the semiconductor industry.

Technical Skills
  • Proficient in ERP systems and inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Advanced PowerBI skills for reporting and data analysis (essential).

Analytical and Communication Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience interpreting data and making recommendations.
  • Proven experience presenting to executive leadership; clear verbal and written communication skills suited to a senior audience.

Leadership and Hands-On Approach
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with experience mentoring a high-performing team.
  • Willingness to take a hands-on approach as a player/coach, diving into details while driving strategic goals.
