Job description

INVENTORY CONTROL ANALYST, MAINTENANCE (STARLINK)

SpaceX is developing a low-latency, broadband internet system to meet the needs of consumers across the globe. Enabled by a constellation of low Earth orbit satellites, Starlink will provide fast, reliable internet to populations with little or no connectivity, including those in rural communities and places where existing services are too expensive or unreliable.

Support Starlink Production Machine Maintenance by managing critical spares, maintenance materials, and inventory processes to minimize machine downtime. This role combines hands-on materials execution with cross-functional coordination, metrics tracking, and ERP system ownership.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate across departments to identify critical maintenance work requests, align MRP parts delivery dates with maintenance schedules, and drive resolution with vendors and engineering to reduce downtime risk for planned and unplanned machine interventions. 
  • Maintain all maintenance inventory health metrics, supporting the sourcing team by ensuring parts details are accurate and up to date with necessary details (measurements, drawings) for quick buy signal actioning. 
  • Implement and maintain changes to critical spares BOMs and work order procedures to structure spares kits in the ERP system for critical maintenance subassembly rebuilds while ensuring data integrity. 
  • Create and use metrics, queries, and reporting tools to highlight parts shortages, assess schedule risks, and drive corrective actions. 
  • Coordinate the setup and organization of new maintenance inventory locations digitally and physically (lineside, offsite) through partflow inventory routing tool and an approved whitelist to optimize inventory flow efficiencies 
  • Analyze inventory location reports to improve data integrity with negative inventory, duplicate locations, unavailable locations and inaccurate inventory quantities. 
  • Track long term resolution on inventory receiving escapes/ errors. 
  • Work with engineering to disposition stagnant and obsolete inventory. 
  • Coordinate kitting, picking, tracking, and delivery of spares, tools, and consumables for both planned and unplanned maintenance interventions. 
  • Partner with fabrication, engineering, buyers, and suppliers to build make-parts, resolve obsolete items, and secure alternatives. 
  • Monitor part status, communicate weekly updates and critical path schedules to leadership, and proactively remove blockers. 
  • Execute daily warehouse tasks including receiving, material handling, inventory accuracy, quality checks, and system transactions. 
  • Maintain a safe, organized workspace and uphold Starlink standards for quality and documentation. 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency. 
  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, or information systems or 3+ years of experience in an inventory analyst role and a high school diploma or equivalency certificate 

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 1+ years of ERP/WMS system experience (SpaceX systems preferred). 
  • Experience in machine maintenance, critical spares, or high-volume manufacturing environments. 
  • Strong critical thinking, comfort with ambiguity, and ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced setting. 
  • Familiarity with SQL, data visualization, MRP systems, or basic scripting (Python/web development a plus). 
  • Aerospace, automotive, or semiconductor industry background. 
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and communicate effectively. 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Willing to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed. 
  • Ability to stand for 8+ hours and lift up to 25 lbs unassisted.
