Mold Change Over Technician

Location: Lafayette, IN
Pay: $17.00$22.00 per hour
Shifts: 1st, 2nd & 3rd Shift Available

1st Shift: 6:00 AM 2:30 PM
2nd Shift: 2:00 PM 10:30 PM
3rd Shift: 10:00 PM 6:30 AM

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Mold Change Over Technician to join a manufacturing team in Lafayette, IN. This position supports injection molding operations by performing machine setup, equipment adjustments, troubleshooting, quality inspections, preventive maintenance, and other production support activities.

The ideal candidate will have manufacturing experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform machine setup and operate manufacturing equipment safely.
  • Support mold changeover and production setup activities.
  • Adjust machines and equipment to maintain product quality.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and production issues.
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance and TPM activities.
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures when clearing equipment faults.
  • Inspect and measure parts to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Monitor scrap, rework, defects, downtime, and other production goals.
  • Complete production paperwork and data entry accurately.
  • Assist and train associates on machine operation, equipment adjustments, safety procedures, and preventive maintenance.
  • Operate forklifts and cranes as needed.
  • Move materials, waste, and nonconforming products throughout the facility.
  • Report quality and safety concerns to the Team Leader or Production Manager.
  • Participate in 5S, Kaizen, continuous improvement, and safety initiatives.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Injection molding or machine setup experience is a plus.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to assist with training and supporting other associates.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to accurately complete paperwork and production documentation.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequent use of hands and arms for handling, reaching, and operating equipment.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move 50 pounds or more.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders as needed.
  • Ability to work safely around manufacturing equipment.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE and follow all safety procedures.
