Responsibilities

The Senior HR Generalist serves as a strategic and hands-on human resources partner supporting leaders and employees across assigned business units. This role provides expertise in employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, workforce planning, employee engagement, policy administration, compliance, and organizational development. The Senior HR Generalist collaborates closely with operational leaders to deliver HR solutions that support business objectives while fostering a positive, compliant, and employee-centered workplace culture.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Employee Relations

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and workplace issues.
  • Conduct employee relations investigations and recommend appropriate resolutions.
  • Coach managers on performance management, corrective action, conflict resolution, and employee development.
  • Support employee retention initiatives and engagement efforts.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Partner with hiring managers to develop recruitment strategies and workforce plans.
  • Assist with job descriptions, position evaluations, and requisition approvals.
  • Coordinate recruitment, interviewing, candidate selection, and onboarding activities.
  • Ensure a positive candidate and new-hire experience.

Performance Management

  • Guide leaders through performance review processes.
  • Support goal setting, performance improvement plans, and employee development planning.
  • Provide coaching and training to managers on performance-related matters.

HR Compliance & Administration

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain knowledge of employment legislation, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, and applicable state laws.
  • Support policy development, interpretation, and implementation.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and files in accordance with company standards.

Organizational Support

  • Analyze workforce trends and recommend appropriate HR solutions.
  • Assist with organizational changes, restructures, and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Participate in compensation reviews, market analysis, and salary administration processes.
  • Support annual merit, bonus, and performance planning cycles.

Employee Engagement & Development

  • Facilitate employee training and development programs.
  • Support culture-building initiatives and employee recognition programs.
  • Partner with leadership to improve employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.
  • Assist in change management and communication efforts.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Master's degree preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Experience supporting multi-site operations preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare, pharmacy, senior living, or highly regulated environments preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience managing employee relations matters.
  • Excellent consultation, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with HRIS, applicant tracking systems, and Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Certifications

  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use standard office equipment for extended periods.
  • Ability to travel occasionally between locations as business needs require.
