Job description

Desktop Support Technician

Location: East Hartford, CT

Employment Type: Contract (9-12 Months)

Schedule: 40 Hours Per Week, Monday-Friday

About the Opportunity:

Robert Half is seeking a Desktop Support Technician to join a growing IT team. This position will provide a mix of end-user support, workstation deployment, employee onboarding, and technology rollout assistance.

The ideal candidate will possess strong desktop support skills, enjoy working directly with end users, and be comfortable handling a variety of technical issues in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide desktop and end-user support for employees across multiple locations
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and peripheral device issues
  • Image, configure, deploy, and replace laptops and desktop computers
  • Support employee onboarding, workstation setup, and equipment provisioning
  • Manage and resolve support tickets while maintaining excellent customer service
  • Assist with hardware inventory and asset tracking activities
  • Support technology refresh initiatives and workstation deployment projects
  • Coordinate technology-related tasks associated with office expansions, relocations, and operational initiatives
  • Work closely with internal IT teams to ensure timely issue resolution
  • Document technical issues, resolutions, and support procedures


Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Desktop Support, Help Desk, or End User Support experience
  • Experience imaging and deploying laptops and desktops
  • Strong troubleshooting skills involving hardware and software issues
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and support requests

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with asset management and hardware lifecycle activities
  • Exposure to project coordination, technology deployments, or office rollouts
  • Experience supporting mobile devices and remote users
