Job description

HealthPartners is hiring a Manager, Health Informatics. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring alignment between organizational decision-support needs and the information provided to leaders across the enterprise. The Manager applies deep healthcare industry knowledge, analytical expertise, and technical leadership to partner with stakeholders, prioritize business needs, and transform complex data into meaningful insights that drive strategic and operational decision-making.

Serving one of the nation's largest consumer-governed nonprofit healthcare organizations, the Manager, Health Informatics plays a critical role in helping HealthPartners understand performance, improve care and service, reduce costs, and advance organizational goals through data-driven decision-making. This position oversees the development and delivery of analytics, performance measures, and reporting solutions that support a healthcare ecosystem of more than one million members, hundreds of provider relationships, and multiple product lines operating within complex regulatory and compliance environments.

The Manager is responsible for leading the evolution of how data is extracted, analyzed, visualized, and delivered across HealthPartners. By identifying new methods and technologies for transforming data into actionable information, this leader helps ensure the organization can effectively respond to changing customer needs, industry trends, and emerging healthcare challenges.

In addition to providing day-to-day leadership, the Manager will define the team's vision, structure, and analytical framework to deliver meaningful insights and long-term value to the organization. Beyond leading the Trends Analytics team, this role will also support an additional 4-5 analytics team members who serve other key business stakeholders.

The Manager reports to the Vice President, Health Informatics. Success in this role requires a strong ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, develop talent, and translate complex healthcare data into insights that support better business and clinical outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience applying healthcare data and analytics to support health care management, operational performance, population health, and strategic decision-making.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing complex analytical solutions, interpreting large and diverse datasets, and utilizing healthcare methodologies such as DRGs, ETGs, risk adjustment, case mix, health measurement, utilization management, and total cost of care analytics.
  • Demonstrated leadership, management, and consulting experience, with a proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop high-performing teams, influence stakeholders, and drive data-informed decision-making across a complex healthcare organization. Experience applying continuous quality improvement principles and methodologies to improve performance, achieve measurable outcomes, and support organizational goals.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical and analytical concepts into clear, actionable insights for business, operational, and clinical audiences.
  • Proven ability to bridge business and technical needs by translating customer objectives and requirements into clear technical specifications and priorities for analytical and technical teams.
  • Experience partnering with senior executives, operational leaders, and physician leadership, providing consultation on analytics, decision support strategies, and the communication of complex projects and findings.
  • Strong organizational and resource management skills, with the ability to lead multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced and evolving technology and data environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams through change, effectively reallocating resources, adapting to shifting business priorities, and maintaining high levels of performance and customer service.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Eight (8) years of experience in healthcare analytics, health informatics, performance measurement, health information systems, data extraction, and data analysis. Experience in a healthcare research environment and familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with business, operational, clinical, and physician leaders to translate complex analytical concepts into actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making. Experience serving as a trusted consultant to non-technical stakeholders is highly valued.
  • Advanced leadership, management, and consulting skills, with proven expertise in data architecture, data infrastructure, analytics, and statistical methodologies.
