HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT:
This role reports to the Carter's Brand Art Director and is based in our Buckhead office on site 4 days/week.

This is a highly craft-focused role at the center of a major brand transformation. You will help bring a newly evolved Carter's brand to life across all touchpoints-building and scaling a modern, cohesive visual identity system. This role blends strong foundational design with emerging motion capabilities, ensuring the brand feels both elevated and dynamic in today's landscape.
You will play a critical role in developing brand guidelines, creating design systems, shaping laydown photography, evolving packaging, and introducing thoughtful motion and animation that enhances storytelling and brand expression.

50%: Brand identity & guideline development

  • Support the creation, rollout, and ongoing evolution of Carter's new brand guidelines.
  • Translate brand strategy into clear, scalable design systems including typography, color, layout, iconography, and graphic elements.
  • Build flexible toolkits and templates that enable consistency across teams, channels, and partners.
  • Partner closely with Creative leadership to define and refine the future visual expression of the brand.
  • Act as a steward of the new brand-ensuring consistency while thoughtfully evolving the system over time.

20%: Brand design & creative execution

  • Concept and design brand-forward creative across marketing, retail, and owned channels-translating strategy into elevated, cohesive work that resonates with modern families.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to bring campaigns to life while maintaining a high bar for craft, consistency, and attention to detail across all deliverables.

20%: Laydown photography & packaging design

  • Partner with Art Directors and photography teams to concept and execute laydown photography that aligns with brand standards.
  • Provide direction on composition, styling and prop usage to ensure a cohesive brand look and feel.
  • Design and evolve packaging systems that reflect the Carter's brand identity and stand out in retail environments.
  • Ensure packaging and photography work together seamlessly as part of a holistic brand experience.


10%: Motion & animation

  • Bring the brand to life through thoughtful, simple motion design across digital touchpoints.
  • Create animations for social, digital marketing, presentations, and brand moments.
  • Ensure motion aligns with and enhances the overall brand identity-not just decorates it.

WE'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF:
Must have:

  • Strong graphic design foundation with expertise in brand systems, visual identity, and a refined eye for typography, layout, color, and composition.
  • Organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented with the ability to independently manage projects from concept through production.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, work within constraints, meet deadlines, and continuously improve process and output quality.
  • Clear communicator with strong presentation skills and the ability to take and apply creative direction effectively.
  • Collaborative, hands-on, and solution-oriented approach to problem solving.
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). Foundational motion/animation skills (e.g., After Effects, Figma motion, or similar tools).

Preferred skills and experience:

  • 4-year bachelor degree in Graphic Design preferred
  • 3+ years experience in Graphic Design
  • Fluent in fundamentals of design and production
  • Understanding of how brand translates across physical and digital environments
