About the role:
We are seeking a collaborative, analytical, and results-oriented finance professional to serve as a trusted business partner for the Spencer manufacturing site. The Senior Financial Analyst will leverage financial insights, operational knowledge, and strong communication skills to influence decisions, drive continuous improvement, and support achievement of site and divisional objectives. This role is responsible for supporting the financial planning and analysis, the monthly close cycle, profit and loss analysis, and financial evaluation of capital and strategic projects & initiatives.
Work model, sponsorship, relocation:
At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our local office at least three days per week. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Perform the timely month-end accounting close by the third business day of the month, meeting all corporate reporting deadlines. Prepare journal entries, spreadsheets, and reports as needed in order to efficiently and correctly generate site financial statements.
  • Partner with assigned business functions and operational leaders to provide financial analysis, performance reporting, and actionable insights that support business decision-making.
  • Support annual planning processes, including operating expense, headcount, and capital budgets, as well as periodic forecasts and long-range planning activities.
  • Analyze manufacturing costs, operational performance, and financial results to identify risks, opportunities, and improvement actions.
  • Ensure accurate cost accounting practices and allocation methodologies are maintained in accordance with corporate policies and established procedures.
  • Gathers historical cost data on such activities as material purchases, labor, scrap yield, shipments, value of production, etc.
  • Costs new services or products by developing unit costs and projecting expenses.
  • Review Capital Projects and VIPs (Value Improvement projects) to ensure cost and savings calculations are accurate and in line with current guidance.
  • Interpret, execute, and recommend improvement opportunities in both business process, reporting content and review cadence to plant management.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive culture through participation in employee engagement, community involvement, and diversity and inclusion initiatives.

Required qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years' of experience in relatable positions.
  • Proven ability to influence without authority,
  • Knowledge in Microsoft office tools (Excel, Power Point, Power BI)

Preferred qualifications:
  • Higher education (CPA, MBA)
  • Cost accounting in a medical device company or manufacturing, COGS modeling and long-term planning experience.
