Job description

Description

SoftBank Robotics America, the dynamic, fast-paced leader in workforce automation, is seeking a Sr. Finance Systems & Tax Operations Lead who is wildly passionate about start-up environments and innovation. Our company is focused on shaping the future with artificial intelligence and robotics and we\'re seeking others who are equally curious, creative, and regularly think outside of the box.

At SBRA, we make robotics and business personal. We believe the future of work lies in cobotics, with the potential to make our lives more productive, meaningful, and filled with joy, excitement, and wonder. It all starts with the right technology, personal creativity and passion, and innovative thinking, enhancing how robots learn, interact, and connect with people. Our robots are designed to accelerate teams and business. Weโ€™re here to make sure they enrich the human experienceโ€”how we work, how we learn, how we connect, and how we grow.

We are seeking a Sr. Finance Systems & Tax Operations Lead to oversee the integrity, compliance, and scalability of our finance technology stack and end-to-end tax operations. This role serves as the key bridge between Finance, IT, Revenue Operations, and system administrators - ensuring that billing, tax, and financial workflows are accurate, efficient, and compliant with regulatory and audit requirements.

This is a fast-paced and dynamic position. We are looking for a talented, self-motivated, flexible, organized team player who has the drive to deliver results and takes initiative to join our Finance and Accounting Team. The ideal candidate possesses leadership capabilities, solid operational and technical accounting background.

The ideal candidate is hands-on with finance systems (e.g., Zuora, ERP SAP, Avalara), strong in tax operations, including local indirect taxes and income taxes - and experienced in driving process improvements across the Order-to-Cash cycle.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Systems Ownership

  • Oversee the configuration, governance, and process integrity of finance systems (e.g., Zuora, ERP modules, tax engines).
  • Review system administrator work, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with Finance policies.
  • Drive enhancements to billing, invoicing, taxation, and revenue workflows.
  • Lead implementation of new finance system features, integrations, and process automations.
  • Serve as Financeโ€™s subject matter expert for Zuora and related O2C systems.

Tax Operations

  • Manage end-to-end tax operations, including:
    • Local indirect taxes (sales tax, VAT, GST, excise)
    • Income taxes (corporate, withholding, or other local tax obligations)
  • Ensure timely tax filings, remittances, and reconciliations with accounting systems.
  • Maintain accurate tax rules in billing systems and ensure audit readiness.
  • Monitor changes in tax regulations across jurisdictions and implement updates in systems and processes.
  • Support tax implications for new products, geographies, and deal structures.

Compliance & Controls

  • Establish and maintain internal controls over billing, taxation, and system changes.
  • Partner with Accounting to ensure accurate revenue recognition and tax reporting.
  • Prepare documentation for audits (internal, external, SOX).
  • Ensure invoicing, system configurations, and tax treatments adhere to global and local regulatory requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Sales Ops, Rev Ops, Engineering, and Product on pricing, billing workflows, and new product launches.
  • Provide guidance on taxability, invoicing structure, and revenue implications for non-standard deals.
  • Act as escalation point for complex billing, tax, and system issues.
Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in finance, Accounting, or Business.
  • 5+ years in Finance Operations, Tax Operations, RevOps, or Financial Systems roles.
  • Experience with Zuora, ERP SAP, and tax engine Avalara.
  • Strong understanding of local indirect taxes (sales tax and Nexus) and income taxes.
  • Knowledge of Order-to-Cash processes, revenue recognition (ASC 606/IFRS 15), and audit compliance.
  • Ability to interpret contracts and assess revenue/tax implications.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills with a process-driven mindset.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in SaaS, technology, or multi-entity environments.
  • Prior involvement in system implementations, automation, or process improvements.
  • Knowledge of USA tax regulations, Nexus rules, and cross-border compliance.
