Senior Test Engineer (Aerospace)
We are seeking a Senior Test Engineer to support the development and validation of complex electro-mechanical systems. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining both automated and manual test solutions, with a strong emphasis on software development, troubleshooting, and problem-solving—not just tool usage.
You will collaborate across engineering disciplines to ensure products meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements while driving improvements in test strategy and execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, execute, and maintain acceptance test procedures aligned with engineering and customer requirements
- Design and build automated and manual test equipment for development and production environments
- Actively develop, debug, troubleshoot, and optimize test software and systems (not limited to tool usage)
- Partner with cross-functional teams (design, systems, manufacturing) to improve product testability and quality
- Ensure compliance with applicable aerospace and industry standards
- Support system validation, verification, and qualification activities
- Estimate project scope, including resources, timelines, and technical requirements
- Review and maintain technical documentation, including test plans and reports
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to testing methodologies and tools
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or related field required)
- 5–7 years of experience in test engineering or related field
- Strong hands-on experience developing and troubleshooting test software and systems
- Proficiency with LabVIEW (required)
- Experience with automated test development and instrumentation
Technical Skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop, troubleshoot, and problem-solve software, not just operate existing tools
- Experience with:
- LabVIEW (required)
- TestStand
- MATLAB
- Jira & Confluence
- Strong understanding of data acquisition systems and test automation frameworks
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and system diagrams
Nice to Have
- Aerospace or defense industry experience
- Familiarity with:
- NX or SolidWorks
- National Instruments hardware/software ecosystem
- Aerospace standards such as DO-160 and DO-178
Additional Details
- Travel: Approximately once per quarter
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (export control/ITAR requirements apply)
