ABOUT DRAGONFLY CARES

Dragonfly Cares is a mission-driven organization dedicated to helping children with autism and developmental differences thrive. We deliver high-quality Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy where it matters most: in homes, centers, schools, and communities across Long Island. Our team of compassionate professionals are united by one goal: meaningful progress for every child and family we serve.

Position Overview

Dragonfly Cares is seeking dedicated Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) and Behavior Technicians (BT) for full-time, school-based positions in Nassau County for the upcoming school year. In this role, you'll provide 1:1 ABA therapy to students on the autism spectrum within a school setting. You will work closely with supervising BCBAs and school staff to implement individualized BIPs, support skill development, and help students succeed academically, socially, and behaviorally throughout the school day.

This is an ideal role for compassionate, dependable people who want consistent daytime weekday hours, with no evenings or weekends, and a schedule that follows the school calendar.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Provide 1:1 ABA therapy and behavioral support under BCBA supervision throughout the school day
  • Implement and monitor behavior intervention plans aligned with each student's learning goals
  • Collect and record accurate data on student behavior and progress
  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, school staff, and clinical supervisors
  • Maintain detailed, professional documentation that meets school and agency standards
  • Participate in supervision and ongoing trainings to strengthen your clinical skills

Dragonfly Cares provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetics, veteran status, or any other protected status. This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment.

Requirements

  • Availability for full school-day hours, Monday through Friday
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, special education, or a related field (preferred, not required)
  • Minimum of 1 year of ABA experience (preferred)
  • Previous school-based or special education experience (preferred)
  • Experience working with children, especially those with autism or developmental delays, is a plus
  • Reliable transportation to school districts.
  • Excellent communication, patience, empathy, and a passion for helping others

Benefits

WHY JOIN DRAGONFLY CARES?
  • Competitive pay: $23-$26 per hour, based on education, certifications, and experience
  • Consistent daytime hours: Full school day, weekdays only, with no nights or weekends
  • School calendar: Your schedule follows the school year, with breaks and holidays off
  • Comprehensive Training: We invest in your success by providing free CPI (Crisis Prevention & Intervention), CPR, and First Aid certification training, along with unlimited virtual training opportunities.
  • Professional Growth: Advance your career with access to Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and Professional Development Units (PDUs) to support ongoing learning, certification, and licensure requirements
  • Real clinical support: A supervising BCBA guides every case, and you'll collaborate with the school team
  • Supervision Opportunities: Looking to grow in the field of ABA? We provide opportunities to earn both restricted and unrestricted supervision hours for individuals pursuing BCBA certification, as well as fieldwork opportunities for students completing their required experience hours.
  • Referral bonuses: Earn up to $250 for each qualified referral
  • Meaningful work: Help students grow academically, socially, and behaviorally every day
