At Core States Group, the work you do matters to the clients we serve, the communities we support, and the teams who rely on one another to deliver with excellence. Our Cause is powerful: to create a world where all environments improve everyday life.

Why This Opportunity Matters

This is an opportunity to help shape and scale Core States Group's national Multi-Site Civil Engineering platform. This role requires someone who can operate at both a strategic and execution-focused level, align people, process, client expectations, financial performance, and delivery standards, and create delivery models that support continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the performance, growth, and delivery consistency of national Multi-Site Civil Engineering teams, with accountability for client service, team performance, overall financial performance, quality, and sustainable growth.
  • Strengthen delivery systems, team structures, workflows, quality expectations, communication standards, and performance expectations across national program teams.
  • Build a national delivery platform that strengthens client confidence, improves execution, supports growth, and becomes a competitive advantage for Core States Group.
  • Build, mentor, and develop high-performing Multi-Site Civil Engineering teams with the leadership depth and technical capability required to support national client programs.
  • Create a culture of accountability, ownership, collaboration, service, and continuous improvement.
  • Strengthen national client relationships by understanding client needs, improving responsiveness, and helping teams deliver with consistency and trust.
  • Partner with client leaders, project teams, market leaders, and technical teams to support program delivery, strategic pursuits, and expanded client opportunities.
  • Drive consistent execution across client programs, including scope management, schedule performance, budget accountability, project setup, change management, invoicing discipline, and closeout.
  • Use performance data, client feedback, and business insight to identify trends, address gaps, improve resource planning, and strengthen delivery outcomes.

Success Measures

Success in this role will be measured by the degree to which the Senior Director of Civil Engineering - Multi-Site strengthens national client delivery, improves operational performance, develops leaders, grows market share, and builds a more scalable civil engineering platform.

  • More consistent delivery across national client programs.

  • A stronger culture of excellence, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

We are looking for a senior civil engineering leader with strong business judgement, operational leadership capability, technical credibility, and the ability to lead complex teams serving national and programmatic clients. • Professional Engineering license strongly preferred.
  • MBA, advanced business degree, or demonstrated business leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Significant civil engineering leadership experience, including responsibility for client relationships, team leadership, program delivery, overall financial performance, and operational execution.

  • Strong business and financial acumen, including the ability to evaluate client growth opportunities, financial performance, staffing, resource planning, workload management, and operational priorities.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering delivery for multi-site, national, or programmatic clients, including scope, schedule, budget, permitting, quality, and client communication.
