Job description

The Project Estimator will work with account managers and the design team to create cost estimates, validate design parameters and help to manage the proposal creation process. The estimator will review plans, visit the proposed site as required, and estimate the cost to procure and implement the proposed system.

Essential Job Accountabilities

  1. Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
  2. Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
  3. Design and develop solutions by working with CAD Designers and Sales Team.
  4. Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
  5. Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  6. Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
  7. Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  8. Maintains cost database by entering and backing up data.
  9. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements

Required Education, Skills and Experience

  • BS/BA degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 experience designing or estimating MHE technologies and storage solutions
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams on large projects
  • Detail oriented with superb time management
  • Strong communication skills - clear and concise interpersonal verbal and written
  • Computer literacy - AutoCad, Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Project
  • Must be able to thrive and succeed in an innovative environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity
  • Able to perform high level data analysis, detailed cost tracking and reporting
  • Experience with one or more of the following major conveyor manufacturers
    • Intelligrated, Dematic, Automotion, Hytrol, TGW
