Product Design Manager, Newsroomis an experienced designleader who enjoys collaborating withdesigners,product, engineering, research, editorial, data, marketing, contentstrategyandbusiness leadershipto build efficient user workflows and intuitive storytelling tools. Your Role Accountabilities...
  • Be an integral part of the product design team, working with cross-functional team leadersoncreating the next generation of CNN'seditorial experiencesfor broadcastand digitalnews production, from small iterative improvements to long term vision.

  • Drive the product design strategy for the future of newsroom products, while advocating for its users witha strong senseof empathy, business goals, and industry at scale

  • Be both strategic and creative, with the ability toprioritize anddeliver via hands-onexecutionand influence.

  • Establish a high performing team structure, including people management, professional development,and mentorship responsibilities for individual team members.

  • Empower and manage designers,fosteringa cohesive, committed, passionate, productive, and positive environment within a growing team.

  • Create opportunities for ideation, team building,and collaborative design thinking across the team through workshops,onsites, design sprints, andother teamactivities.

  • Be highly communicative and responsive both within your team and across the company while managing a large volume of active workstreams.

  • Steer the holistic view of your product suite across integration (user and technical) points to providea superiorseamless product experienceand strong change management support.

  • Create end-to-end customer journeys that inform new product features and promote new businesses.

  • Employ user research, and analytics data to develop a deep understanding of how users engage, what matters tothemandidentifypain points.

  • Contribute to the product design priorities to inform strategic roadmap, translating business needs into creative and user experience opportunities.

  • Create information architecture diagrams, experience journeys, user flows, wireframes, designmockupsand interactive, AI-powered prototypes, and alignment documentationtoeffectively conceptualizeand communicatedesign solutions and vision.

  • Champion our design principles, designsystemsand product roadmap, and serve our editorial teams' needs.

  • Play a role in shaping the future of CNN's publishing platform by collaborating with stakeholders and team members to brainstorm, envision, andvalidatenew features and functionalities.

Qualifications & Experience...
  • 8+ years as a product designer, with at least2 recent yearsincontent/media managementsystemsand/orinternal tooling or enterpriseproductivity toolingwork.

  • 2+ years of management experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities and facilitation skills.

  • Proventrack recordof empowering and managing adiverse teamof designers, with a focus on helping them grow and succeed.

  • A mastery of Figmaand some AI prototypingexpertiseusing Cursor,Claude Code,Figma Make, or similar tools.

  • Proficiencyin utilizing,creatingandmodifyingdesign system componentsto create scalable, delightful user experiences.

  • Experience working within large-scale or enterprise organizations, requiring patience and proactive communication along each step of the design process.Bonus points for experience in news/media.

  • A demonstrated ability to manage complex design challengesand a strongrecord of fostering cross-functional collaborationand stakeholder alignment.

  • Masteryofand abilityto guideothersonbest practices ofuser experience design, including usability principles, user researchmethodology, testing techniques (A/B, Multi-Variant), design theory, and interaction design.

  • Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience

  • Willingness totake smart risks, championnew ideas,roll up yoursleeves,and get things done.

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $119,000.00 - $221,000.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
