- Manage and oversee the configuration of critical aerospace and defense projects for the Digital Technology Group (DTG) organization, ensuring the highest quality standards.
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of Product Data, including Parts, Drawings, and Bills of Materials (BoMs).
- Perform and lead comprehensive audits and verification of product configurations to ensure compliance with the highest customer requirements, company and industry standards.
- Lead the preparation and documentation required for product structure and configuration management.
- Direct the configuration change management process, including evaluating, implementing, and tracking complex changes.
- Collaborate with senior management, engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives and resolve critical configuration issues.
- Maintain and manage comprehensive records and documentation related to configuration management activities.
- Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to enhance configuration management practices.
- Manage and mentor a team of configuration analysts, providing technical leadership and support.
- Represent your team in management-level meetings and provide updates on project status.
- Support the continuous improvement of processes and procedures within the CM department.
- Ensure the productive use of labor hours and resources.
- Provide direction and support to your team to achieve project objectives.
- Oversee the training and development of staff to enhance their skills and competencies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of your team’s activities with organizational goals.
- Monitor and report on the progress of projects, identifying and addressing any potential issues or risks.
- Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and compliance in all CM activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in configuration management or a related field within the aerospace and defense industry.
- Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
- Expert proficiency with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems and configuration management principles including ASME, EIA-649 and MIL-HDBK-61.
- Strong attention to detail and superior documentation skills.
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
- Ability to lead a team of Configuration Analysts.
- Thorough understanding of Documentation Control Database systems.
