Job description

Citi is seeking a Lead Analyst within the US Consumer Cards (USCC) Business Control team to manage end-to-end ownership of audit and regulatory examination management. In this high-impact role, you will serve as the central point of contact for all internal reviews and external regulatory examinations, shaping how risk findings are governed, tracked, and resolved across multiple business lines. This is an opportunity to operate at the intersection of strategy and execution, influencing senior leadership and regulators while driving a culture of accountability and control excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end coordination of all internal audit reviews and regulatory examinations across the USCC business, serving as the primary point of contact for internal auditors, regulators, and senior business stakeholders.
  • Establish and execute a structured pre-audit readiness program, identifying control vulnerabilities, organizing documentation, and ensuring business owners are fully prepared ahead of fieldwork commencement.
  • Manage the flow of all audit and regulatory requests, ensuring business responses are accurate, complete, and delivered within agreed timeframes.
  • Partner with business leaders to review and address audit observations to ensure they accurately reflect the true risk landscape.
  • Perform root cause analyses and thematic reviews across audit histories to surface systemic control weaknesses and deliver actionable recommendations to USCC leadership.
  • Maintain executive-level dashboards tracking audit statuses, issue aging, corrective action plan milestones, and escalation risks for senior management visibility.
  • Ensure all audit findings and control gaps are mapped to the Managers Control Assessment framework, keeping risk activities, controls, and monitoring current and accurate.
  • Assess issue remediation trends using data analytics, identify emerging risks, and develop corrective action plans that embed lessons learned and promote sustainable, long-term solutions.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • 6–10 years of progressive experience in operational risk management, internal audit, regulatory examination management, or business controls within a large financial services institution.
  • Ability to identify, measure, and manage key risks and controls, with a demonstrated record of implementing sustainable, risk-reducing solutions across complex environments.
  • Deep understanding of consumer credit card operations, banking products, and their associated operational and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong analytical capability to evaluate complex control activities, assess remediation trends, and translate data into clear insights for senior audiences.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to draft precise executive summaries and engage credibly with senior auditors, regulators, and C‑suite stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent university qualification.
What We Offer

Joining Citi means becoming part of a global organization where your work directly shapes how risk and control standards are upheld across one of the world's leading financial institutions. You will have the scope, access, and platform to make a meaningful impact at scale.

  • A hybrid working model offering 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely, giving you flexibility without compromising collaboration.
  • Strategic influence at the highest levels, with regular engagement with senior business leaders, internal audit teams, and federal regulators.
  • Genuine ownership of a critical governance function, with the autonomy to shape how audit and regulatory risk is managed across the USCC business.
  • Exposure to complex, multi-line business environments that accelerate professional growth and deepen expertise in financial services risk management.
  • Competitive financial wellbeing benefits and a comprehensive rewards package aligned to the seniority and impact of this role.
