What you'll do

The Senior Business Partner  is a trusted advisor and thought leader aligned directly to our functional business leaders. Reporting directly to the People Leader for each function, this role sits at the intersection of people strategy and execution. You will partner closely with senior leadership to design and deliver bespoke people strategies that drive organizational performance, capability, and growth. 

Operating with a high degree of autonomy in a fast-paced global environment, you will balance high-level strategic consulting with the hands-on delivery of core P&C programs. You will translate global people strategies into highly effective functional actions, ensuring consistency, compliance, and excellence in execution while enabling our people to be brilliant. 

This role reports to the P&C Leader, Engineering.


The day-to-day

Senior Business Partnership & Coaching 

  • Executive Advisory: Partner with senior leaders to deeply understand business priorities and architect tailored people strategies that maximize engagement and performance. 
  • Leadership Coaching: Act as a critical sounding board and thought partner to senior leaders, driving change management, building leadership capability, and enabling teams to deliver complex business results. 

Organization Effectiveness & Change Management 

  • Org Architecture: Lead functional organization design, team effectiveness, and workforce optimization initiatives to ensure structures, roles, and processes foster agility and support future scaling. 
  • Transformation Support: Guide senior leaders through business transformations, structural shifts, and ambiguity from an organizational development and process-oriented perspective. 

Talent & Leadership Development 

  • Pipeline Planning: Partner with Talent Partners, Talent CoE and business leaders to identify, develop, and retain critical, high-potential talent  
  • Succession & Performance: Lead and execute comprehensive talent reviews, performance management cycles, and succession planning activities to build a sustainable, future-ready leadership pipeline. 

Collaboration & COE Integration 

  • Unified P&C Delivery: Work closely with specialized P&C Centers of Excellence (COEs) and People Operations to seamlessly implement corporate initiatives (e.g., compensation and performance cycles) across your assigned client groups. 

Data and Insights (AI-Forward Execution) 

  • AI-Enabled Diagnostics: Leverage advanced AI tools and people analytics platforms to predict talent trends, proactively identify workforce friction, and generate data-driven insights that inform strategic business decisions.   
  • Operational Enablement: Embrace and champion generative AI and modern HR technologies to streamline core lifecycle processes, automate administrative workflows, and elevate overall operational excellence. 

Culture, Engagement & Insights 

  • Culture Stewardship: Champion company values and inclusion initiatives that elevate the employee experience, promote collaboration, and foster a diverse workforce. 
  • Data-Driven Strategy: Leverage workforce data, analytics, and employee feedback to uncover trends, measure initiative impact, and proactively inform strategic workforce planning. 

Position Complexity & Supervision 

  • Complexity: Works on and leads projects and programs of significant, unique, and complex scope. Exercises independent judgment, highly advanced concepts, and specialized HR expertise to resolve systemic issues and achieve long-term objectives. 
  • Supervision: Operates with a high degree of independence to define organizational problems, select appropriate methodologies, and execute solutions. Anticipates future talent and functional needs with minimal to no direction. 
  • Leadership/Influence: Contributes as an established thought leader. Constructively challenges norms, articulates future-state visions, and guides others through complex challenges. May train, mentor, and direct the day-to-day work of junior-level P&C staff. 

What you'll need
  • Experience: 10+ years of proven experience as an HR Business Partner or equivalent HR generalist role within a complex, matrixed, and fast-paced global organization. 
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, human resources, communications, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). 
  • Leadership Alignment: A proven track record of partnering with and influencing senior managers and executives to deliver high-impact people strategies. 
  • OD & Change Acumen: Deep, demonstrable experience in organizational design, driving cultural transformations, and managing complex change initiatives. 
  • Data Literacy: Advanced ability to leverage people metrics and data analytics to diagnose root causes, inform business cases, and guide leadership decision-making. 
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal, coaching, and influencing skills, backed by strong commercial awareness of how talent programs drive overall business success. 

What will help you on the job
  • Prior experience working within the Telecommunications, SATCOM, aerospace, or high-tech industries. 
  • Experience collaborating with international teams, external counsel, or global consultants to align multi-country people practices. 
  • Experience utilizing advanced digital HR toolsets and enterprise platforms (e.g., Workday, ServiceNow).

Salary range
$121,000.00 - $191,500.00 / annually.For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $150,500.00- $225,500.00/ annually
